| Jennifer Lawrence & Chris Pratt A ‘Passengers’ Possibility
Jennifer Lawrence is in very early talks to star in Passengers, a sci-fi adventure/love story, according to Variety, while The Wrap reports that Chris Pratt is in early talks for the lead male role. Oscar-nominated director Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game), helms this Sony drama with Jon Spaihts (Prometheus, Marvel’s Doctor Strange) penning the script. Set in the future, Passengers sees thousands of people traveling to settle on a distant planet, when a man (Pratt’s role) wakens too early after 90 years, and wakes up a woman (Lawrence’s role), literally and figuratively, to avoid becoming lonely.

| ‘Star Trek 3’ Director Shortlist Includes Rupert Wyatt and Duncan Jones Among Others |
|
Ten days ago, it was announced that Roberto Orci would not be making his directorial debut on the tentatively-titled Star Trek 3, thus endangering any hope that the movie would be ready for release in time for the franchise’s 50th anniversary in 2016. Sources close to the production indicated that Paramount Pictures was hoping to snag Edgar Wright, who famously departed Marvel Studios’ long-in-development Ant-Man back in May and was later replaced by Peyton Reed, to replace the inexperienced Orci in the director’s chair on what looks to be an important motion picture on several levels. It looks as if any hope of retaining the services of the Shaun of the Dead/The World’s End filmmaker has proven to be a pipe dream because a promising shortlist of potential directors for Star Trek 3 has been leaked and Wright’s name is not among them. According to Mike Fleming Jr. at Deadline, Paramount has narrowed their selection of possible directorial pinch hitters to Rupert Wyatt, Duncan Jones, Daniel Espinosa, Justin Lin, and Morten Tyldum.

Originally Released: August 26, 2011 If you’re a fan of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo or a nut for Jaime Lannister from Game of Thrones, then it is without any doubt that I can say that you will want to watch the magnetic Headhunters. Trust me on this one: you will find your eyeballs nailed to the screen with this parade. Continuing the "Scandinavian noir" established by other authors and many movies, Headhunters is a little deceiving, but in a good way. By its very title, you have established expectations, which get blown out of the water by the movie’s opening sequence, which then changes and gets whooshed out of the water even further by the progressions of the plot. You’ll have no idea what will kick you in the dick next. Created in the home of Black Metal, the Norwegian film follows the character of plainly-named Roger Brown (Aksel Hennie) who leads a successful business life as a headhunter for well-established firms from throughout Europe. While he enjoys a high level of achievement financially with his career, it is not enough (in his mind) for the lifestyle he wishes to lead for him and his wife Diana (Synnøve Macody Lund).
