Watch ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Star Tom Hardy’s Screen Test For ‘Star Trek: Nemesis’

You know him as the villainous Bane in this summer’s blockbuster film, The Dark Knight Rises, the final installment in Christopher Nolan’s acclaimed Dark Knight Trilogy, but before actor Tom Hardy donned the Bane mask, he played the bad guy in 2002’s Star Trek: Nemesis.
In Star Trek: Nemesis, Hardy starred as a young clone of Star Trek Captain Jean-Luc Picard named Shinzon who plotted the destruction of Earth. The film was the tenth one in the Star Trek franchise and the fourth and final one with the full cast of the Star Trek: The Next Generation television series, starring Patrick Stewart as Picard.
With the success of The Dark Knight Rises, a video of a screen test from Nemesis with Hardy and Stewart is making the rounds online again. You can watch it here below.

Mark Millar’s ‘Superior’ Auction
Mark Millar, creator of many of the most talked about comic books of recent memory including Kick-Ass, Nemesis, Old Man Logan, and Civil War, has posted an interesting auction on Ebay for his next creation, Superior. In this auction, Millar has left it to fans and do-gooders alike to name the title character’s secret identity, all in the name of charity.
In the past, Millar has held auctions for roles in Kick-Ass and Nemesis on behalf of special needs units in a school where his brother, Dr. Bobby Millar, has tirelessly raised money for many handicapped children, and the Superior auction is no exception.
Millar describes his motivations:

Tony Scott To Direct Adaptation Of Mark Millar’s ‘Nemesis’
|
 |

In a message via his Twitter account, Mark Millar announced that Tony Scott would be taking the captain’s chair for a feature film adaptation of he and Steven McNiven‘s graphic novel, Nemesis for 20th Century Fox.
Never to shy away from potentially controversial content with other titles such as Wanted and Kick-Ass on his resume, Millar’s Nemesis is not like the superhero stories we’re used to. It follows Matt Anderson, a genius and billionaire who also happens to be one of the world’s greatest fighters. Anderson uses his many resources to set off on a quest for revenge against those who murdered his parents — parents who just so happened to also be super-villains. This makes Anderson something of a villain as well, hunting down cops left and right on his way to facing off against the police chief responsible for the capture of his parents.
Millar talked about the deal on his official site in-depth. You can read the whole thing below!

Comic Review: Nemesis #1
|

Nemesis #1
Written by Mark Millar
Art by Steve McNiven
Colors by Dave McCaig
Letters by Chris Eliopoulos
Marvel/Icon
Released March 24, 2010
Price: $2.99
Just as the film adaptation of Mark Millar‘s last work, Kick-Ass, is set to hit the big screens, Millar returns to comics with his latest blood-filled, foul-mouthed opus, Nemesis. Millar has brought back frequent collaborator Steve McNiven (Civil War, Old Man Logan) to handle the art duties and what they have created is a book that is completely different from Kick-Ass, yet still falls in line with Millar’s style of over the top violence and unique takes on the super-hero genre. If you’re a fan of Millar’s work, you’ll find plenty to enjoy about this issue, but if you’re not much of a fan, there’s nothing here that will change your opinion about him, so just move along.
Nemesis #1 opens with a mysterious man dressed all in white killing a Japanese policeman, something he had said he would do, even telling the exact time of the policeman’s death. From there we move to Washington DC, where we meet the chief of police, Blake Morrow, a man who is basically a super-hero, but with a badge instead of a costume. He seems to be the perfect cop; clean, efficient, and ready to move on to cleaning up the whole country. The chief learns that he is to be the next target of the man in white, who is codenamed Nemesis. Nemesis has been killing off a number of policemen across Asia, and has now predicted the time when the chief will die.
