After reading Green Hornet #1 I have a bunch of words that I can use to describe it. Unfortunately, all of them are four letters long and come before the words “cool” & “awesome.”

Just when this property needed a breath of fresh air, Dynamite goes and gets the man who can breathe the freshest air there is, Mark Waid. Being a big Green Hornet fan, I was excited when Mark Waid was announced on this title, and, for once, he not only lives up to his hype, but he surpasses it! This is the book to read if you love the Green Hornet. This is ALSO the book to read if you couldn’t give a crap about the Green Hornet, or just have a casual interest in him.

Daredevil #7 Banner

Paolo Rivera is one of those Marvel artists that just seems to pop up on every book the company publishes. His stay is just usually short consisting of mostly one-shots. He’s previously done one-shots for Captain America, Spectacular Spider-Man, and X-Men. He has previously worked on Daredevil and did a brief run on Amazing Spider-Man. Now he’s back on Daredevil teaming with writer Mark Waid to start a new story arc for the blind superhero.

Marvel says in their press release for this book that issue #7 featuring Rivera/Waid is “a perfect jumping on point in the life of Matt Murdock.” Just in case you didn’t know Matt Murdock is the man behind the mask.

Spider-ManAmazing Spider-Man #641
Written by Joe Quesada
Art by Paolo Rivera and Joe Quesada, Danny Miki and Richard Isanove
Letters by Joe Caramagna
Price: $3.99
Marvel Comics
Release date: September 9, 2010

At the time of its release, Marvel’s decision to make Peter Parker single again after years of being married to Mary-Jane Watson was met with mixed emotions at best. Many felt that the story told in “One More Day” was inconsistent with previous Spider-Man stories, especially the part where Peter makes a deal with Mephisto to rescue his Aunt May, which many thought was too cosmic, or out there a concept to appear in the more street-level Spider-Man. Others wondered why Marvel felt that an unmarried Spider-Man is so much more superior to a married one. Over the last four issues, we have been revisiting the “One More Day” storyline in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man, with a story called “One Moment in Time,” brought to us by writer and Marvel Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada. Amazing Spider-Man #641 brings the storyline to a close, which is a good thing, because this was pretty much a completely unnecessary story that went on for three issues too long.
