Marvel Doctor Strange Benedict Cumberbatch

Walt Disney Studios has released the first trailer for Marvel’s Doctor Strange, which you can watch here below.

Directed by Scott Derrickson, the film stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Stephen Strange, an arrogant and selfish surgeon who only cares about his career and wealth. After a terrible accident shatters the bones in his hands, the doctor searches for a method that will restore the use of his hands after exhausting his funds. His final desperate attempt takes him to the far east, where he becomes a disciple of the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) and learns the ways of magic to not only restore the use of his hands, but also become the Sorcerer Supreme.

Doctor Strange Marvel Studios concept art

The first trailer for Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange will make its exclusive debut tonight on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Directed by Scott Derrickson, the film stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular character, an egotistical surgeon who suffers from a horrible accident and seeks to heal his hands by any means necessary, even if that means using mystic powers.

The film has been described as Marvel Studios’ Fantasia. We’ve recently seen a couple of set photos that have made their way onto the internet of the cast shooting a scene in New York, which was then followed by photos of Cumberbatch visiting a local New York comic book shop. But as we are just hours away from seeing the trailer, Marvel has released the first poster for the film. Check it out below.

Benedict Cumberbatch Doctor Strange NYC Comic Book Shop

Photos recently surfaced from this past weekend’s New York City shoot for Marvel’s Doctor Strange, featuring scenes with stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Mads Mikkelsen.

But once the film wrapped shooting in the city, its title star Benedict Cumberbatch and its director Scott Derrickson took some time to visit a local comic book shop, much to the delight of the shop’s workers and patrons.

The actor and director where more than happy to take pictures at JHU Comic Books in midtown Manhattan, NYC, where Derrickson and Cumberbatch — in full Sorcerer Supreme garb — and took photos with some interesting Doctor Strange comic book titles in their hands.

Check out the pics here below.

The Little Prince trailer header

The Little Prince is an animated adaptation of the children’s book of the same name. The film showed plenty of promise since it debuted at the Cannes Film Festival last year and has grossed an estimated 80 million in overseas markets. But Paramount Pictures has pulled the film from its schedule one week before its release. But if you think that means that it is the end, well, there is some hope for you yet as the film is now on the lookout for a new distributor and is expected to hit theaters sometime this year.

More on the story below.

The Little Prince has been adapted. Again. But, for those who are tired of the onslaught of adaptations and sequels, the new film adaptation manages to do something quite “novel,” to turn a phrase. Director Mark Osborne has constructed something to surprise people familiar with the work without alienating those fans in the least.

The plot device of The Little Prince lay in the character of an un-named little girl (Mackenzie Foy), the only child of a single mother (Rachel McAdams) who’s fiercely dedicated to bringing her daughter up with the best opportunities available. Mind you, no one’s downtrodden and there’s not a lick of poverty in the film; rather, it’s as much an exploration of middle class upward mobility (that’s only too American) as it is anything else. Our little girl is bright, fun loving, and shy — nearly the inverse of our Little Prince. She meets the titular character through The Aviator, an ancient man played by Jeff Daniels who mirrors the spirit, life experiences, and adventures of the author of the original work: Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
