| ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ Casting Rumors: Michael Fassbender, Hugo Weaving, Adam Driver Are The Latest Names
Man, there must really be something to all this Star Wars: Episode VII business. Seems like every day casting rumors hit the web with greater fanfare than the announcement of a new pope. Just a few days ago it was revealed that Breaking Bad and Friday Night Lights actor Jesse Plemons was among the latest performers to try out for the cast of J.J. Abrams‘ continuation of George Lucas‘ epic space fantasy franchise. Today adds a few more interesting names to the Episode VII mix, namely Adam Driver (Girls), Hugo Weaving (Cloud Atlas), and star-on-the-rise Michael Fassbender.

| Saoirse Ronan Joins Long List Of Names Tied To ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ Rumors
At this point we should just start throwing darts at names and just say the person is attached to Star Wars: Episode VII. Despite the many casting rumors so far, not one of them have panned out, but that also doesn’t mean they are completely false. Many actors are considered for roles before one is officially chosen. According to LatinoReview, the camp that’s reported most of the Star Wars rumors, Saoirse Ronan is the most recent name who has reportedly read for a role in the J.J. Abrams-directed film. The site is also reporting that one of the previously rumored names to be attached to Episode VII, has reemerged, despite repeated denials. More on that later.

| Screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan Wants New ‘Star Wars’ Films To Start Fresh
On Friday, Star Wars screenwriters Lawrence Kasdan and Simon Kinberg briefly talked about Episode VII, the standalone films, and what it was like as a fan to write a script for the new Star Wars legacy. However, they didn’t address what Episode VII could contain or if it would be an extension of the Episodes that came before them. The Los Angeles Times, however, managed to get some answers in regards to those questions during Final Draft Hall of Fame ceremony. During the interview, Kasdan stated that he wasn’t focusing on the reported standalone films nor was he focusing on creating an extension of the previous films. Instead he said:

| Drew Struzan May Come Out Of Retirement To Draw Posters For New ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy
Disney has made poster artist Drew Struzan an offer he probably cannot refuse. While details on what Star Wars fans could see in Episode VII remain under wraps, Disney has made a few calls out to the man who drew the posters for the first six Star Wars films, to possibly draw new posters for Episodes VII-IX. Now nothing is official, but fans would certainly like to see the poster artist back at work to draw up some very exciting posters for one of the greatest sci-fi franchises of all time. *Updated Below* The great thing about owning Star Wars (if you happen to have a few billion dollars hiding in your gigantic couch cushions, as Disney did), is that you don’t have to wait around to see if one movie will do well enough to warrant a sequel and eventual franchise. It’s already one of the most established franchises in history, a guaranteed cash cow. And they plan on jumping all over that fact like a frat boy would a freshly microwaved burrito…hopefully to our collective delight, and not our condemnation. We’ve already found out that Oscar winning Little Miss Sunshine and Toy Story 3 writer Michael Arndt will write the first planned movie, Star Wars Episode VII, for its 2015 release. But now comes word that the company is already looking at two more writers to take on the next two installments, Star Wars Episode VIII (or IIX? Have we ever gotten this high with a Roman numeral movie franchise?) and Star Wars Episode IX.
