Yesterday, Disney brought us a brief look at Rogue One: A Star Wars Story with a trailer announcement. Today, the teaser has been revealed. Directed by Gareth Edwards, the film is part spinoff and part prequel, as it is set before the events of A New Hope but is also centered on a new group of heroes we have never seen before. The story will revolve around a group of rebels will attempt to steal the plans to the Death Star. Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything) stars as the leader of the group.

Teasers for trailers are very commonplace right now. It isn’t so much of an actual teaser, these are more like trailer announcements. The practice can be a bit irritating to some, but without them, we wouldn’t know that the first trailer for Gareth Edward’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will drop tomorrow morning on ABC’s Good Morning America.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens began as my most anticipated movie of 2015 and ended being my favorite film of the year. While seeing director J.J. Abrams‘ newest installment in the Star Wars franchise in IMAX was a delight, viewing the film in Blu-ray at home multiple times was just as entertaining. Matter of fact, since the Blu-ray Combo Pack comes with a Digital HD copy, I also enjoyed viewing it on my iPhone.

Written by Lawrence Kasdan, J.J. Abrams, and Michael Arndt, the new film takes place 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi, the final film in George Lucas’ original trilogy that saw the Rebel Alliance finally overthrow the Empire. Han Solo (Harrison Ford) is still flying around hustling his way through the galaxy with his trusty co-pilot and friend Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew), while his love Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher) leads a small resistance group against The First Order, an offshoot of the Empire backed by a Darth Vader-obsessed Sith named Kylo Ren (Adam Driver).

Those who tuned in yesterday to the Season 2 finale of Star Wars Rebels were treated to an epic clash between Jedi, Inquisitors, Sith Lords, and Darth Maul. Geeks Of Doom was invited earlier this week to the hour-long premiere of the episode, where we sat with fans and journalists to get the low down on what exactly happened during “Twilight of the Apprentice,” and what could possibly happen next for the Disney XD animated series. Plus, we learned a few geek things that could pique your interest.
