| Zack Snyder Says ‘Batman v Superman’ Is ‘Man Of Steel 2’
In the past few weeks, director Zack Snyder confirmed rumors that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice would focus more on Batman than Superman. He explained that to help establish the Dark Knight as a character who existed long before Superman saved the Earth, we would need to “understand where Batman is with everything.” Of course with Ben Affleck signed on for a trilogy of Batman films plus other Justice League projects, Superman fans are beginning to lose hope for a sequel to Man of Steel, especially since WB doesn’t have any real plans for Superman after Justice League. But consider the newest report a strange sign of hope. Snyder has gone on record to clarify that BvS is in actuality Man of Steel 2. More on the story here below.

| ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ May Have More Dark Knight Than Man Of Steel |
 |

It was only a matter of time before these superhero films started focusing on title heroes facing off against one another instead of the generic villain. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be one of the first films to use that concept for the big screen. Ben Affleck plays the current iteration of the Dark Knight, who is said to be “tired and weary and seasoned and been doing it for a while.” The actor recently signed on to write and direct the first of a trilogy of Batman films that doesn’t include the quasi-Man of Steel sequel – to which WB still has to figure out if Man of Steel 2 will actually be released. Following the huge success of The Dark Knight trilogy, fans are just itching to see what Affleck does in this film, and based on a rumored screening reaction, it looks like WB may want director Zack Snyder to have Batman v Superman focus more on the Dark Knight than the Man of Steel. More on the story below.

| ‘Man Of Steel 2’ May Be Put On Permanent Hold
Last week brought news that Mad Max: Fury Road‘s George Miller was rumored to be in talks to direct Man of Steel 2. Of course given how close the filmmaker was to directing a Justice League film back in the in the late 2000s, it was long overdue. And perhaps Fury Road‘s success convinced WB that the director deserved such an honor. However, there was no mention of a sequel during SDCC, and the film isn’t officially scheduled for a release, tentative or otherwise. Still Warner Bros. may be waiting to see how successful Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad are before they confirm anything, which makes sense. However, there is a new report saying that WB may actually be putting Man of Steel 2 on a permanent hold. More on the story below.

| From Fury Road To Metropolis: George Miller Could Direct ‘Man Of Steel 2’ |

Warner Bros. is proceeding carefully with their plans for a shared cinematic universe based around their DC Comics properties (a lot of which rides on next March’s release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) to compete with the unassailable Marvel Studios. They had originally planned a sequel to 2013’s Superman reboot Man of Steel to kick off the summer of 2018, but the tentatively-titled Man of Steel 2 was taken off the roster as James Wan’s Aquaman moved into position as Warner/DC’s big 2018 summer tentpole release. Meanwhile, a solo Batman reboot starring Ben Affleck has been dated for November of that year. Unlike Marvel Studios’ blockbuster line-ups, which are usually set in stone but remain subject to the occasional alteration, the DC Comics Shared Cinematic Universe release schedule appears to be in constant flux. Even though Man of Steel 2 is not in active development at Warner Bros. for the moment, that can always change, and fast.

| How ‘Justice League’ Influenced Design Of ‘Batman v Superman’ Batmobile
Comic-Con may be over, but Warner Bros.’ marketing campaign for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice continues its promotional push. The first two trailers revealed that Batman has been Gotham’s protector for quite some time. We saw teases for the Batwing and the Batmobile. Of course, with every new vision comes different interpretations of the character and his weapons and other utilities. Now production designer Patrick Tatopoulos is talking about the differences with his Batmobile and the Tumbler in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. More on the story below.
