Michael Dougherty‘s cult horror anthology Trick “˜r Treat is a perfect film to watch each year during the Halloween season on Blu-ray or DVD while curled up on the couch. But, what would be even cooler is getting to finally see it on the big screen at a theater with fellow horror fans, especially since the film never got a theatrical release.

So, if you’re in the Los Angeles area on October 28, 2013, then here’s your chance to do just that: Legendary Pictures and Beyond Fest will present a one-night-only theatrical screening of Trick “˜r Treat at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, which will be followed by a panel featuring director Michael Dougherty as well as several members of the cast.

Today’s triple-shot features Michael Dougherty‘s 2007 film, Trick ‘r Treat, and two lesser-known ’80s slasher movies: Roger Spottiswoode‘s 1980 film, Terror Train, starring “Scream Queen” Jamie Lee Curtis, and Tobe Hooper‘s 1981 movie, The Funhouse. Three films filled with plenty of tricks and treats and ghoulish delights.

Michael Dougherty‘s 2008 cult classic horror anthology Trick ‘r Treat (which, I must confess, I still haven’t seen yet) has finally been sequelized, sort of. To promote its upcoming Trick ‘r Treat marathon, Fearnet commissioned a short from Dougherty called “Making Friends” for the occasion.

I don’t recall Back To School being equated with Halloween, but all this week, all I’ve been hearing about is how kids are going back to school and what Halloween costumes they should wear.

Therefore, director Michael Dougherty‘s new promo for the Trick ‘r Treat Halloween marathon at FEARnet is quite appropriate. In the new promo, Sam, the movie’s little terror in a burlap sack mask, is also heading back to school, though his schoolmates might want to watch what they do around him.

Mondo, the Alamo Drafthouse’s collectible art boutique, will have a new limited-edition Trick ‘R Treat poster for sale some time today.

Let me just quickly say that all of their limited edition posters sell out fast, many times within an hour (their Star Wars ones in 10 minutes sometimes!), so you have to act fast if you want one. The hand-numbered limited edition poster was created by Drew Millward and is a 15″x 24″ screen print with an edition of 120. It will sell for $30, and is limited to one per person.
