| Movie Review: Us
Us
Director: Jordan Peele
Writer: Jordan Peele
Cast: Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, Shahadi Wright Joseph, Evan Alex, Elisabeth Moss, Tim Heidecker
Distributor: Universal Pictures
Rated R | Minutes: 116
Release Date: March 20, 2019 The phrase “we are our own worst enemy” is a theme that plays a huge part in Jordan Peele‘s Us. The filmmaker’s sophomore effort walks that fine line between horror and social satire. It examines the human condition and uses scares as a vehicle to take a look at the monsters that lurk beneath our skin and what would happen if it were ever to crawl out of it. The end result is another genre-bending film with something to say. While allegories and metaphors have been a part of the fabric of horror films, Peele knows how to deliver that message with terrifying precision. Check out my full review of Us here below.

| Wait, What? A Sequel To ‘Backdraft’ Is On The Way, and There’s A Trailer To Prove It
It was announced a little while back that a sequel to Ron Howard’s 1991 firefighter drama Backdraft was on the way. But I for one didn’t catch that particular news bit. It’s something that actually sounds like a joke considering how long ago the first movie came out, but according to the calendar we’re still a few weeks from April Fools’ Day. It’s no joke. Backdraft 2 is indeed on the way. And a trailer has been released to prove its existence, which can be found below. It’s not a completely unrelated movie just using the title to get some more attention, either. This is a direct sequel, which includes original stars William Baldwin and Donald Sutherland reprising their roles.

| ‘Good Boys’ Trailer: Jacob Tremblay Is Having One Very Bad Day In New Seth Rogen-Produced Comedy
Seth Rogen‘s Superbad really knew what it was like for an innocent outside kid to try hard to desperately fit in by engaging in illicit and illegal activity. But things are a little bit different in Good Boys, his new produced raunchy comedy featuring Room‘s Jacob Tremblay as the lead of a trio of kids, who probably can’t reach the height requirements for a roller coaster, who will try to get into a kissing party. But their attempts lead them to all sorts of trouble that involve cops, drug dealers, frat boys, and so much more. Check out the trailer here below.

| ‘The Secret Life Of Pets 2’ Trailer Introduces Harrison Ford’s Ultra Tough Rooster
Okay, so by now we should pretty much know what we are getting from these character trailers for The Secret Life of Pets 2. Each of them introduces or re-introduces a pet that will be seen in the upcoming Illumination Entertainment sequel. And not much else. After half a dozen of these, we still don’t know anything about the plot. Although, this latest teaser might give us a slight idea. It gives us a first look at Rooster, voiced by Harrison Ford, as a very loyal and tough shepherd dog. Check out the teaser below.

| ‘Fast and Furious 9,’ ‘Bond 25,’ and ‘Dune’ All Get Release Dates
Fast and Furious 9 seemed to be put on the back burner for quite some time. Bond 25 is expected to start production very soon. And everyone and their mother seems to be signing on to be a part of Dune. While these three films couldn’t be any more different, they have one thing in common. They all finally have release dates. Fast and Furious 9 is shifting from its initial April 2020 date and driving towards May 2020, which is giving Bond 25 a reason to take Fast and Furious 9‘s previous April 2020 date. Meanwhile, Dune will be hitting theaters in November 2020. More on all of this below.
