Marvel Four Horsemen Of Apocalypse

The after credits scene for X-Men: Days Of Future Past not only teased the sequel, X-Men: Apocalypse‘s, next villain, Apocalypse, but also four of his strongest warriors, aptly named the Horsemen of Apocalypse. With the initial film having rebooted the entire X-Men timeline, director Bryan Singer and writer Simon Kinberg have plenty of mutants of their choosing to add to the Horsemen roster. But who will they choose? Will they even be in the film at all?

Well Singer posted a teaser image of the first page of the treatment on Instagram. On it, it hints at the possibility that the Horsemen may actually be in the film. Hit the jump to see the image.

“As new species are formed through natural evolution, others will become rarer and rarer, and finally extinct. The forms which stand in closest competition with those undergoing modification and improvement will naturally suffer most.”Charles Darwin, “Origin of the Species”

With X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer and screenwriter Simon Kinberg rewrite history and right the wrongs of sequels past. Based on the celebrated storyline from Chris Claremont and John Byrne‘s 1981 run on Uncanny X-Men, Singer’s latest X-film acts as a sequel to both 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand and 2011’s X-Men: First Class, as well as a follow-up to 2013’s The Wolverine.

2023. In the post-apocalyptic ruins of New York City, mutants are enslaved by Sentinels, biomechanical hunter-killers that have decimated the Earth’s population and reduced the world to rubble. In Moscow, the remaining X-Men plan to send Wolverine back to 1973 to stop Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) from killing scientist Bolivar Trask (Peter Dinklage), whose assassination triggers the Sentinel Program’s approval by President Nixon.

X-Men: The Last Stand

With the release of X-Men: Days of Future Past this week, the next victim of Screen Junkies’ Honest Trailers series is none other than The X-Men Trilogy, which began with X-Men and X2: X-Men United from director Bryan Singer, and concluded with X-Men: The Last Stand by director Brett Ratner.

It will come as no surprise to you whatsoever that Ratner’s entry in the franchise gets plenty of screen time in the four-and-a-half-minute video, which you can watch below.

Bryan Singer Hopes You Overlook The ‘X-Men’ Chronological Errors

X-Men: Days Of Future Past banner

If you’ve watched the entire X-Men film franchise, you may have noticed some glaring errors in the film’s chronology. When exactly Professor X and Magneto met for the first time exactly isn’t clear, unless you are going by the X-Men: First Class. And speaking of that film, let’s not forget Emma Frost who looked like she was in her early to mid-thirties but appears as a teenager in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which is a film that took place well after X-Men: First Class. There are also the Summers brothers, the ageless Moria MacTaggard, and much more.

But X-Men: Days Of Future Past could correct some of those issues given that the film does deal with time travel, and as well all know, whatever happens in the past will have a ripple effect on the future.

Hit the jump to read what Days Of Future Past director Bryan Singer had to say about the errors in continuity, and his hopes that fans will just forget that they exist.

After months of rumors and speculation, and much fan debate, Channing Tatum is confirmed to play Gambit from the X-Men universe. Producer Lauren Shuler Donner actually reached out to Tatum after he commented that he would like to play as the Ragin’ Cajun in an interview back in September. According to the actor, if he did get the role, he would be using a real cajun accent.

So where does Gambit fit in the whole X-Men franchise now that the film’s chronology will likely change dramatically due to the events in X-Men: Days Of Future Past? What does Shuler Donner have to say about this? Hit the jump to learn more.
