| ‘Dope’ Trailer: Allow Me To Introduce Myself
Rick Famuyiwa‘s Dope was one of the best films to come out of the Sundance Film Festival this year. Critics raved over how the energetic film infused classic hip-hop beats and ’90s geek nostalgia, and how it had a John Hughes-feel to it. Open Road obtained the rights in just a matter of days after the film’s debut at the festival, and scheduled it for a summer release. Starring Shameik Moore (Incredible Crew, The Watsons Go to Birmingham) Tony Revolori (The Grand Budapest Hotel), and Kiersey Clemons (Eye Candy, Shake It Up), Dope centers on a group of high school kids from Inglewood, CA, who must find a way to recoup money from a drug deal gone wrong or get killed. Now a teaser trailer for the movie has appeared online, and it gives us a first look at the style, energy, music, and nostalgia you will experience while watching the film. Hit the jump to check it out.
