For three years now, Brian Clevinger and Scott Wegener have been presenting us with the ongoing adventures of Atomic Robo and his fighting scientist. They’ve given us stories of giant Nazi killing machines, walking pyramids, and monsters from beyond all time and space. I’ve read this series since the beginning, and I have to say that this is the best issue of the series yet. The mix of comedy and action has been this series strong suit from the beginning, and it remains one of the best things about this series, but artist Scott Wegener has really improved since the first series and maybe this is just the first time I really appreciated that fact. He has become a master at laying out the panels on the page in the best way to tell the joke. The layout of each page is very simple; four or five panels each page, but the images that he chooses for each page work perfectly. The storytelling is rock solid, and everything about the art makes this comic work.

| Want To Know Who’s In The Running To Become Captain America?
A list of names has been revealed to the masses today, and this list of names just so happens to be the gentlemen who are currently in the running for the highly-coveted role of Captain America in The First Avenger: Captain America. Usually we would just ignore stuff like this because c’mon now, this is a bunch of people who are being considered for one single role, which means all but one of them will not have anything to do with the project in the end. None-the-less, this is a gigantic film, and the last before the unheard of merging of multiple juggernaut Marvel Studios franchises in The Avengers, so we figured you might be interested in knowing just who might become your new Captain. The names included are certainly very interesting and they vary from those you might expect to a couple you might not so much expect. Continue reading to find out who’s in the hunt!

| ‘Slumdog’ Beauty Freida Pinto Cast In Tarsem Singh’s ‘War Of Gods’
It was November of 2008 when we started learning of castings for some of the many Greek mythology projects that were being developed. Two of these projects were Brett Ratner’s adaptation of popular video game God of War; the other was director Tarsem Singh‘s War of Gods (which is also apparently called Dawn of War, too). Since that time, the Ratner God of War project crumbled and died, and we haven’t really heard much from War of Gods until today; it’s being reported that Freida Pinto has been cast as the female lead in the movie. Pinto recently burst onto the scene as Latika, the inspirational love interest in Best Picture-winning Danny Boyle film, Slumdog Millionaire. The actress joins Henry Cavill (The Tudors), who has long been attached to the lead role of Theseus.

See story update at the end of this post…
Those lovable Latinos over at Latino Review have some major DC news for us today. According to their sources, David S. Goyer himself will be writing the new Superman reboot film to be titled Man Of Steel. Superman Returns fans may not be pleased to know Bryan Singer and Brandon Routh will not be involved. Goyer is apparently going for more of the John Byrne Superman feel from the 80’s comic reboot. This means it will not be an origin story and takes the stance that audiences already know who Superman is and where he came from. The studio wants to make Superman modern, believable, and most of all FUN! Brainiac is the villain so we don’t have to sit through another Lex Luthor real estate scheme (thank God). Also of note, the Daily Planet is struggling due to the internet and the film is setting up a huge Kryptonian mythology.
