Finally, the answer to my – and by my, I mean almost everyone’s – Mondo poster problem has arrived. As many of you know Mondo had their very own booth at the San Diego Comic-Con this week. For an organization to sell out one of a kind posters in a matter of minutes, they obviously deserve to have their own booth. But to those who weren’t even able to purchase a couple of their posters this past weekend, Mondo would like to help you out.
On Wednesday, July 18, Mondo will be giving out Olly Moss’ poster for Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises to everyone. No that is not a typo, and yes there will be equal opportunity for everyone to get this poster. No time limit, no waiting for a Twitter update, no pulling your hair out because you were one click away from getting that elusive poster. If you have time between 12:01 a.m. CST Wednesday July 18 until 11:59 p.m. CST, and you go on Mondo’s site.
This is Mondo’s way of saying thanks to everyone who has been supporting them throughout their run. Even if you didn’t get a poster, you still pushed yourself to get one, and this is how they want to thank you for trying. Using one of their biggest artists for one of the most highly anticipated films of the summer, is a nice way of doing that.
Obviously with this poster being available to everyone for a whole day, there is no way to determine what edition you will get. But just know that it will probably be smaller than the 24″ x 36″ inch variant which was on sale at Comic-Con. When the poster does go on sale on this Wednesday it will cost $40.
In addition to this poster, one special person who finds a golden ticket will be able to ask Moss to do an original, one-off image of anything he or she wants. Anything you want, the minimalist artist will draw up just for you.
“We’ve listened to feedback about making prints available to everyone who wants one, and we’re excited to be able to offer this one time chance with something as highly coveted as an Olly Moss print for Batman. While we won’t change the collectible status of Mondo posters, this timed release is something we’d like to offer as a unique and rare opportunity for any fan to own a Mondo print,” said Mondo Creative Director Justin Ishmael.
So after looking at the poster and knowing that it is not going to be part of a limited edition, are you still interested in getting it?
