The latest installment of the reprinting of Dan DeCarlo‘s exquisite rendering of the comic strip Archie is now available. To put this comic into perspective, the late 1950s pint sized pop singer Frankie Lymon once waxed “I’m not a juvenile delinquent,” speaking of course about his exile from the rambunctious lifestyles that teenaged leather jacketed and Brycreemed up hair exhibited, getting in run ins and scraps with the law at every turn they could, purposely and accidentally. Someone of that era who could easily have echoed Lymon’s words was the comic book character Archie, who lived a teenage lifestyle right out of the universe of the old Andy Hardy series which starred Mickey Rooney way back when, living idyllic lifestyles of innocuous, clean cut fun, skirt chasing and being chased. While Archie may have been furthest from the complex young characters immortalized on the sliver screen by people like Marlon Brando and James Dean during the 1950s, he still lived a life where he constantly got into trouble, albeit of the fun loving, devil-may-care variety.

The one thing that Despicable Me 2 has going for it, aside from Agnes, that one kid known for screeching “it’s so fluffy,” are those tiny yellow minions that are constantly causing mayhem and by the side of Gru (voiced by Steve Carell). The first trailer wasn’t too heavy on the details, which is fine by all means since it was a teaser trailer, as was the second trailer. Now a new more plot centric trailer has revealed a lot of detail about the story that will force Gru to fight for the good side. Hit the jump to see the latest trailer for Despicable Me 2.

| Sequel To ‘Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters’ Being Developed
In one of the more unexpected bits of news in recent memory, Paramount and MGM have decided to begin developing a sequel to the recent action horror-fantasy, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. The movie only made $54 million here in the States—not at all a good number for a movie like it. But what it had in its favor was that its production budget was only around $50 million. And one should never underestimate the power of overseas box office numbers; in foreign markets Hansel & Gretel pulled in $150 million, which is why a sequel is now beginning to grow.

Will Eisner is the man who literally wrote the book on creating comics. His Comics and Sequential Art has influenced comic creators since its original publication in 1985 and was my introduction to Eisner’s work. Last Day in Vietnam is the first non-technical Eisner book that I have ever read and I now fully understand why Wizard Magazine named him the “Most Influential Comic Artist of All Time.” Following World War II, the military contracted Will Eisner for many years to create a monthly equipment maintenance manual called PS Magazine. His work took him on-site to both the Korean War and the Vietnam War to gather maintenance stories from military personnel. Last Day in Vietnam is a collection of his encounters during this stage of Eisner’s career. The graphic novel consists of six shorts, not in any apparent order.
