SDCC 2013: director Zack Snyder announcing Superman Batman photo by Geeks Of Doom

A new photo has surfaced of director Zack Snyder on the set of his highly anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice movie.

The Watchmen director posted the photo to his private Cruel Films Instagram account with the caption “This is a shot that @clayenos took of me on set I was looking through my pictures and saw it,” tagging long-time set photographer Clay Enos, who regrammed the photo publicly to his social media accounts, adding “Seems like a long long time ago. I miss my carny gang.”

Check out the photo here below.

There’s no mention as to which “set” Snyder is on. While the background looks a lot like the train station at the end of Man Of Steel, which was filmed at Union Station in Chicago, IL, the director himself looks a bit different from when he was working on the Superman movie a few years ago. It’s more likely that Snyder would be looking through photos taking during BvS‘s production, possibly for the inevitable accompanying “Art Of The Film” book. One of the commenters on Enos’ Instagram post mentions working on the film and looking forward to seeing the finished product: “@ericmwinn: Good to hear you take a break from post and reminisce of such a great project! Again, I was so happy and fortunate to be a small part of! Can’t wait to see the finished product! :-)”

The photo shows Snyder with his hands stuffed inside his denim jacket pockets wearing a scarf clearly standing on a film set, and Batman News notes that the scarf he’s sporting is the same one he was seen wearing back in May when BvS was filming near Detroit, MI (see image of Snyder just below from May 2014).

Update – a commentor on Batman News points out that the setting looks like Michigan Central Station.

The Batman site also points out that this could possibly be the same set as the one in the photo of Ben Affleck As Batman With The Batmobile.

Filming began on BvS back in October 2013 at East Los Angeles College’s Weingart Stadium during the school’s football game against Victor Valley College. During halftime, a scene was shot for the movie pitting two fictitious football teams — Gotham City University against Metropolis State University — against each other. Principal photography began with the main stars on May 19, 2014 in Detroit, MI, with additional locations in other parts of Michigan, as well as in Yorkville and Chicago, IL and New Mexico, and filming wrapped in December 2014.

Since we know so few details about the BvS story, it’s hard to speculate what set this could be and what was being filmed there. Rumor has it that the teaser trailer will be attached to screenings of Jupiter Ascending when it comes to theaters on February 6, so perhaps we’ll get a glimpse of something then.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Jesse Eisenberg, and Jeremy Irons, opens in theaters on March 25, 2016.

Ok, here’s the new photo of Snyder on a film set… somewhere.
