If you’re like me (and many others) and found yourself binge watching Marvel’s Daredevil in its entirety last Spring, you might want to clear up some time in the coming months. Marvel has just officially revealed the launch date for the next Netflix based show, Jessica Jones, with an announcement trailer released this morning.
Check out the video here below, along with the brief description from Marvel.
After a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City.
The series stars Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, David Tennant as Kilgrave, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Rachael Taylor as Patricia “Trish” Walker, and Carrie-Anne Moss. “Marvel’s Jessica Jones” is Executive Produced by series Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg (“Twilight”, “Dexter”) and Liz Friedman (“Elementary”), along with Jeph Loeb (“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Smallville,” “Heroes”), who also serves as Marvel’s Head of Television.
“Marvel’s Jessica Jones” is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.
The series became development back under the title A.K.A. Jessica Jones, but Marvel announced back in June that the title would be shortened to Jessica Jones (also known as Marvel’s Jessica Jones, similar to the style of Marvel’s Daredevil).
Daredevil was an awesome hit for Netflix and for Marvel. Hopefully, Jessica Jones will be another runaway hit which will guarantee we will get the big pay off at the end, which is The Defenders featuring Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.
Jessica Jones will be available for streaming in its entirety starting on November 20, 2015 via Netflix.
I suspect that I will be “ill” this Thanksgiving so that I can personally binge this without interruption.
