John Carpenter‘s Halloween is one of the greatest horror films ever made, and turned the filmmaker from an up and coming director to a horror legend. If Psycho is the mother of all horror movies, then Halloween may be its spiritual son.

Forty years after its 1978 theatrical release, Halloween spawned not only sequels and remakes, but an entire sub-genre: the slasher film. This Friday, October 19th the 11th movie to enter the long-running franchise opens worldwide. This new film, also called Halloween, was directed by David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express) and written by Green, Danny McBride, and Jeff Fradley and is a direct sequel to Carpenter’s seminal classic. Ant-Man And The Wasp is Marvel Studios’ 20th film. Based on the heroes of the same name, director Peyton Reed‘s hilarious sequel finds Scott Lang, who is under house arrest after colluding with Captain America in Captain America: Civil War, in a position where he has to balance out his life as a superhero with his life as a father.

As with the previous Ant-Man film, the sequel takes place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but is a film with contained story that only concerns itself with its own characters and their relationships. The only links to the MCU is that it acknowledges what Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) did in Germany and how he and everyone associated with him, including Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) are paying the price.

Ant-Man and the Wasp will be buzzing their way into your homes this October. In addition to the film, you will be able to get a handful of bonus features that reveal how the sequel was made and how Marvel Studios is celebrating its 10 year anniversary.

The Evil Dead was a movie made on a super-low budget by a group of friends in the woods in the late 70s and early 80s. It became a cultural phenomenon spawning two sequels, a remake, an off-Broadway musical, and a 3-season television series on Starz. Now almost 40 years since production started on director Sam Raimi‘s classic film, The Evil Dead will get the luxury treatment in a new 4K Ultra HD combo pack, which arrives right in time for Halloween.

It was announced recently that the sci-fi action classic Predator starring Arnold Schwarzenegger is making its way to 4K Ultra HD soon.
