| ‘Vikings’ Sequel Series ‘Valhalla’ Announced
Back in 2015 our own Olympus Athens wrote a joke article about a spinoff to the hit History Channel series Vikings titled Valhalla. As it turns out, that harmless April Fools’ Day gag was somewhat prophetic. A new Vikings spinoff/sequel series from original creator Michael Hirst and MGM Television has been announced titled Vikings: Valhalla, which will be coming to Netflix. You can find a description of the series and quotes from Hirst and others below.

It wasn’t quite clear where Henry Cavill‘s stood on playing Superman again after it was widely rumored that he walked away from a cameo appearance in Shazam! and that he would no longer be playing the character. Though many had assumed the actor would no longer play the Man of Steel, nothing was actually confirmed. There had been reports that Warner Bros. was exploring rebooting the DC Extended Universe by turning their attention to Supergirl. But Cavill also posted an Instagram video of himself wearing a Kryptonian lift team shirt while slowly raising a Superman toy up to the frame, all with that Superman theme playing in the background. As confusing as it was, things remained relatively quiet. Until now. In a new interview, Cavill says that the Man of Steel’s cape is “still in his closet,” and that he has a lot to give to the role, and that there is a lot of justice that needs to be done still. More on the report below.

With all of the media content that is readily available right now, it is no surprise that studios are quickly moving to launch their own streaming services to offer subscribers exclusive access to their films and television series. Disney has already capitalized on that market with Disney+, and Warner Bros. and NBCUniversal soon following with HBO Max and Peacock, respectively. And that’s all well and good for the streaming business. But now it looks like these major studios may able to release films in their own movie theaters. The Justice Department is looking to remove the Paramount Consent Decree, which regulated how major movie studios distributed their films. More on the report below.

No matter the trilogy, Star Wars has revolved around the Skywalker family and two warring factions. But next month, it all comes to an epic conclusion with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The film is still a little over a month away from release, the cast and crew have been making the typical media rounds at Star Wars Celebration and D23, and the marketing team has released trailers, footage, and more.
