The DC Cinematic Universe is starting to grow. With Man of Steel planting the seeds, we will see how much their cinematic world will grow with the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice. We got a slight hint at the dark tones the film will have through SDCC posters and teaser reveals – the latter of which WB will likely never show again. And we still haven’t seen Jason Momoa as Aquaman, or Ray Fisher as Cybrog. Or, more importantly, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. If you’ve seen some of the leaked set photos, then you know the level of destruction that will be seen in the film is off the scale. But how did it get to that point? Since I don’t have HBO I wasn’t able to catch their latest hit original series True Detective during its eight-episode first season run that began last January. But once it hit home video I was finally able to pick up the box set and binge watch every single hour, and by the end I was convinced I had just seen the best season of a television crime series since the first episode of the CBS classic Wiseguy in 1987. Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson both turned in some of the finest performances of their respective careers, aided immeasurably by the writing of creator Nic Pizzolatto and Cary Joji Fukunaga‘s atmospheric direction. Now some possible casting and story details have surfaced, and can be read below if you’re all caught up and anxious for info on the sophomore season.

With Zack Snyder currently filming Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, how Warner Brothers moves forward with their DC Cinematic Universe after that is unclear. The rumored schedule, which runs until 2018, includes titles based on characters like Wonder Woman, Flash/Green Lantern, Shazam, and Sand Man, but the one thing that schedule didn’t have was a solo Batman film. Something that comes off as a bit of a shock considering that Ben Affleck signed a multi-pic deal. While we will definitely see him in Dawn of Justice and Justice League, a new rumor says that we could see a solo Batman film as early as 2019. There’s even a working title: The Batman. Now all of this is, of course, just a rumor. Hit the jump for more info.
