Is This A Real Working ‘Back To The Future’ Hoverboard? (Video)

HUVr Tech Hoverboard

We’ve seen glimpses of the possibility of a real working hoverboard, the floating skateboard made famous in Back to the Future II, in the past, but nothing that someone could actually get on and ride.

Yesterday a video was uploaded by a company called HUVr, which claims to show the first real-deal working hoverboard ever created. It begins with Back to the Future star Christopher Lloyd showing up in a DeLorean (as he tends to do) and handing off the high-tech board to skateboarding legend Tony Hawk before Hawk and other celebrities talk about being the first to experience something no one thought they’d ever get to experience.

At first glance and without any other knowledge the video might just blow your mind. But there’s more going on here than first meets the eye. Click on over to the other side to see the video.

Christopher Lloyd Arrives At CES In DeLorean

The Consumer Electronics Show 2014 is being held in Las Vegas right now, and there have been plenty of announcements already.

As part of the celebration of the 120th anniversary of Gibson guitars, actor Christopher Lloyd showed up in character as Doc Brown from the classic Back to the Future franchise, and even better, he arrived in time traveling vehicle, the DeLorean.

You can see a video of his arrival below.

Netflix To Update Klingon, Vulcan Subtitles In ‘Star Trek III: The Search For Spock’

Star Trek III: The Search For Spock

Netflix is preparing to remove Star Trek III: The Search For Spock from its extensive movie database because they reportedly feel that the version they currently have does not have authentic enough subtitles for the Vulcan and Klingon dialogue.

And I’ll be honest with you, even though I own this movie on DVD and Blu-ray (and VHS), I totally panicked when I read this news and immediately went into my Netflix Instant Queue where, of course, Star Trek III: The Search For Spock perpetually sits at the #2 slot (behind Star Trek III: The Wrath Of Khan) and watched the movie. The version currently streaming on Netflix that I watched had no subtitle translations for the Klingon and Vulcan dialogue, of which there is plenty, so unless you’ve seen this 1984 movie a million times like me, then you might find it hard to follow.

Piranha 3DD

So what’s the big difference between the new red band trailer for Dimension Films’ summer splatter spectacle sequel Piranha 3DD and the tamer theatrical trailer that was released almost a month ago? In the words of Chris Griffin, “BOOBIES!”

You can watch the red band trailer here below.

In addition to the bounty of bouncing boobage on display here we have David Hasselhoff in a cheeky cameo, Ving Rhames getting all Planet Terror-ed up, Gary Busey getting gnawed up by piranha guppies, and the lovely Danielle Panabaker doing a Shivers/Slither bathtub homage. The Feast team of director John Gulager and screenwriters Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton (with additional assistance from producer Joel Soisson) are on hand to orchestrate another glorious ballet of carnage and chesticles.

Piranha 3DD

The 3D horror remake sequel Piranha 3DD was originally supposed to open last November before it was pulled from Dimension Films’ release schedule and given an unspecified 2012 premiere date, but that didn’t stop the studio from releasing a new trailer today.

You can watch it here below.

Alexandre Aja, the director of the 2010 hit Piranha 3D, has turned over his directorial duties to John Gulager this time around.
