We’ve always known Star Wars and Marvel would be a big part of Disney’s streaming service, which will be called Disney Play. But it’s not just going to be a bunch of existing movies, there’s going to be original content as well. We know that multiple original Star Wars series are currently being developed, including one with Iron Man director Jon Favreau involved. We also know that these series will not be cheap to produce.

Now we’re starting to see what’s in the works on the Marvel side of things. It’s being reported that Disney is developing multiple Marvel series revolving around various characters such as Loki, Scarlet Witch, and other characters who haven’t received their own standalone movies.

If you are looking for Disney content on streaming services, you are most likely going to find it either on Hulu or Netflix. At least right now. But that will all change come 2019, when the mega studio will launch its own streaming service that will have not only its back catalog of films, but also new and original content like live-action versions of Lady and The Tramp and a new Star Wars television show.

The upcoming service has been unnamed for almost two years since it was announced in 2017. But now, we can refer to it as Disney Play. There’s a new report that says the untitled series will have a $100 million production price tag, making it one of the most expensive shows to produce next to HBO’s Game Of Thrones and other big budget shows. Additionally, there is a rumor that says the live-action show could be about the Outer Rim planet Mandalore – the home planet of characters like Jango Fett, Boba Fett, and Sabine. There are new details emerging about the content that will be seen on Disney’s yet-to-be-named streaming service. The service will launch in 2019 and provide customers with content from a wide-range of Disney properties from Disney itself to Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm.
