| Krysten Ritter Cast In Lead Role In ‘Jessica Jones’ From Marvel and Netflix
Marvel has found their lead female star for their Jessica Jones Netflix series. Don’t Trust The B— In Apt 23 star Krysten Ritter will play as the title character. She beats out Alexandra Daddario, Teresa Palmer, and Jessica De Gouw, who all testing for the role. Dexter alum Melissa Rosenberg is the series showrunner. Running at a total of 13 episodes, Jessica Jones will introduce Luke Cage midway through the series. So his casting isn’t far behind. We haven’t heard much since it was reported that Lance Gross and Mike Colter were up for the Cage role. So it could be that they are still testing, or one or both are out, leaving Marvel to look for someone else to fill the role. Hit the jump for more.

| Alexandra Daddario, Lance Gross, and More Testing For Marvel and Netflix’s ‘Jessica Jones’ and ‘Luke Cage’
Marvel fans are getting ready for what will be a pretty spectacular 2015. Not only will they get Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, and Fantastic Four, but they will also get to see their long-awaited Netflix series debut. It first starts with the Daredevil series, and will be followed by Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist series. All of it will culminate with a miniseries event that resembles The Avengers. | Marvel To Film Netflix’s ‘Defender’ Series In New York
It’s always exciting to see a film or TV series filmed on location instead of behind a green or blue screen. But when filming in prime locations like New York or Los Angeles, securing closed sets with the necessary permits can be problematic. Despite some of the red tape, Netflix’s upcoming Marvel series based on the heroes of Hell’s Kitchen: DareDevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Defenders will film all 60 episodes for the five series on location in New York. Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, The Walt Disney Company, Marvel, and Netflix Inc. made the announcement today. According to the press release multi-million dollar incentive program was created to lure Marvel Studios to shoot in New York – seeing as most of the characters are based in the city this makes sense.
