| WB Unwilling To Give ‘Dumb and Dumber To’ The Greenlight
Peter and Bobby Farrelly‘s Dumb and Dumber To nearly fell apart after Jim Carrey reportedly walked out after he felt that Warner Brothers was less than enthusiastic about the seuqel. A few months after, Jeff Daniels quelled some fears saying that Carrey wants to be back, and that production for the long-gestating sequel would begin soon. But that’s history. The Hollywood Reporter has word now that the studio is dropping the project from its distribution slate, which means that competing distributors are now able to buy the rights for the film.

| ‘Kick-Ass 2’ Red-Band Trailer: Try To Have Fun, Otherwise What’s The Point? |
 |

Kick-Ass started a new generation of heroes who possess no superhuman powers but the passion to project the city. It may not have been the box office smash Lionsgate hoped it would be, but it made just enough for a sequel to be green lit. The thing is, Lionsgate isn’t behind this film any more, nor is the film’s first director Matthew Vaughn. Instead, Universal Pictures will distribute Kick-Ass 2, with Never Back Down director Jeff Wadlow steering the ship. By the looks of the new trailer that has popped up, things haven’t changed for Aaron Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Johnson still plays Kick-Ass, a hero with semi-delusions of grandeur. Moretz plays Hit Girl, a hostile teenager, who acts much older than her age. Their actions have inspired the people of the city to become heroes like them. But Mintz-Plasse’s Mother F***er plans to take revenge on the two heroes who took his crime lord father’s life, by assembling the most bad ass super villains in the city. Did I forget to mention that Jim Carrey has a role in this film? Hit the jump to see the red-band trailer.

| Disney Offering Jim Carrey & Adam Sandler Roles In ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ |

Considering just how crazy having a large tree or a raccoon on a team of heroes or space outlaws is, I am not surprised at who Disney may be considering to cast for Guardians of the Galaxy. According to Latino Review, the studio is reportedly courting comedians Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler for roles in the James Gunn-directed film. No word yet on who they would be playing, but based on the original report it wouldn’t be Star Lord. According to LR, the two could be playing/voicing Groot – the large humanoid tree – and/or Rocket Raccoon – a character with an affinity for large high-powered weapons. No word yet on if the offer is for both roles or just one role in particular, but in any case I can guess which actor most fans could feel disgruntled about if he was cast. So for now, let’s take everything with a grain of salt. Nothing has been confirmed, and all that we know is that Disney has an offer on the table.

| Universal Courting Jim Carrey For Supporting Role in ‘Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall’
Now that Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall is scheduled for summer release next year, production for the film is shortly getting underway. The cast, however, continues to grow. Recently John Leguizamo, Donald Faison, Morris Chestnut, and Robert Emms all have been cast in key roles, but Universal is looking to add another big name to the casting sheet. Deadline says that the studio has been courting Jim Carrey for a “showy” supporting role in the film. According to the site, Carrey would play The Colonel, a hero who “helps galvanize the team of misfit super heroes assembled to fight evil.”
