Okay, so how many of you fans of Guardians of the Galaxy woke up this morning knowing you were going to learn the official title of the upcoming sequel by the end of the day? I know, me neither. But it happened, by gum. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige let it slip during a press event to promote Ant-Man, but writer-director James Gunn has confirmed it. | Marvel Congratulates ‘Jurassic World’ For Beating ‘The Avengers’ (Image)
Marvel just made a classy move by conceding their box office title, once ruled by The Avengers, to Jurassic World. The Universal Pictures’ film grossed $208 million domestically last weekend, surpassing The Avengers‘ $207 million opening weekend back in 2012. So to congratulate their rivals, Marvel has just released an image crowning Jurassic World the new box office king. Check out the image below.

| Sony Zeroing In On New Director For ‘Spider-Man’
Sony is zeroing in on a director for their brand new Spider-Man reboot. When we last reported on the news, the studio’s shortlist consisted of Jonathan Levine (Warm Bodies, 50/50), Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre), Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect), Theodore Melfi (St. Vincent), and the team of John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein (the Vacation reboot). That was just a few weeks ago, and now it appears that two of the directors are now in the running to helm the film. A new report says that Levine and Melfi now top Sony’s shortlist of directors. It also says that the studio may settle on a new name that hasn’t appeared on the original shortlist. | Marvel’s Subtle Nods To ‘Star Wars’ In Phase 2 Films
Marvel has sneaky way of dropping some Easter Eggs in their films. Sometimes it may be a visual thing or an auditory thing, but there is one non-Marvel nod that you may have missed. The lost of upper limbs has been somewhat of a recurring theme throughout Phase 2 of the MCU, and that’s because its making a reference to Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. While on the Avengers: Age of Ultron press tour, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed that such Easter eggs exist, and you can expect to see them in the Avengers sequel and Ant-Man.
