Chris Hemsworth In Talks To Star In ‘Men In Black’ Reboot
Sony has been working on putting together a Men in Black reboot for quite some time. At first, the studio had this crazy idea of using the franchise in a crossover with the Jump Street films, with a director even being hired at one point. But that hasn’t panned out yet (the idea is still being considered for the future).
So now the franchises are back to being their own separate thing. They are already talking to F. Gary Gray (The Fate of the Furious) to direct the film, and now it looks like they are talking to Chris Hemsworth to appear in the film. More on the story below.

F. Gary Gray In Talks To Direct ‘Men In Black’ Reboot
Sony Pictures has struggled a bit trying to figure out where to go next with their Men in Black franchise. Back in 2012 they talked about plans for Men in Black IV, a sequel to 21 Jump Street, and a Jumanji remake. The latter two we’ve since seen, but a fourth MiB never materialized. Then came the surprising rumor of a possible Men in Black and Jump Street crossover movie, which sounded like it might actually happen for a while with James Bobin attached to direct a couple of years back. There was also word that Sony was planning a new trilogy for the franchise along the way.
Now comes word that Sony is taking another step toward delivering a new movie in the series. They’ve entered into negotiations with F. Gary Gray to direct a reboot/spinoff of the franchise.

James Bobin To Direct ‘Men In Black’ & ‘Jump Street’ Crossover ‘MiB 23’
As first reported in December 2014 when the Sony e-mail hacks was the biggest news story, there was word that the studio wanted to do a crossover with two of their most lucrative franchises, Men in Black and the Jump Street. Those discussions became a reality when Phil Lord and Chris Miller expressed their intrigue at the idea. The idea was to have Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill reprise their respective roles for a sequel that would take aim at shared universes. But with Lord and Miller now directing the untitled young Han Solo Star Wars spinoff starring Alden Ehrenreich, the crossover would have to find a new director.
While on the international press tour for Alice Through The Looking Glass, director James Bobin (The Muppets) confirmed that he will be the one to direct the crossover sequel, which will be titled MiB 23. More on the story below.

New ‘Men In Black’ Trilogy In The Works
Right out of the gate Sony has shown interest in bringing back Men in Black as a trilogy. The original film was a huge success, but it would be five years before Men in Black II was released, and another 10 years before Men in Black III would hit theaters.
It doesn’t seem like the studio will repeat the same process anytime soon, and have turned to married producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald to relaunch the franchise as a trilogy. But it doesn’t look like Will Smith will be returning in any sort of capacity, producing or otherwise. More on this story below.
