Never in my wildest dreams would I have put Robert Pattinson and Lawrence of Arabia in the same sentence. Well today is the day that wild and crazy dream comes true, because Pattinson is now attached to play T.E. Lawrence, a.k.a. Lawrence of Arabia, in Werner Herzog‘s Gertrude Bell biopic, Queen of the Desert.

Pattinson will co-star alongside Naomi Watts, who will play Bell. The movie will chronicle the history of Bell, who was a woman of many skills which included a writer, archaeologist, explorer, cartographer, and political attache for the British Empire.

By now anyone familiar with The Twilight Saga has heard about the scandal involving star Kristen Stewart, who had a little fling with her married Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders while still being very much involved with Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson.

Obviously the news did not go over well with the series’ rabid fanbase, leading many to wonder whether Stewart’s actions might cause severe damage to the Twilight franchise going forward.

With only one movie left, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, which was expected to deliver massive box office numbers, it suddenly became quite complicated to promote the movie as necessary. But, according to Summit Entertainment, they’re moving on as planned.

If you have already seen previous trailers for David Cronenberg‘s Cosmopolis already, then you know the film is the director’s return to daring and pushing the envelope kind of filmmaking. The film also sees Robert Pattinson in a very dark role.

Pattinson fans who expect to be wooed by his sultry voice and deep eyes will probably be disappointed as he plays someone that we haven’t seen him play before.

Hey, you know who else famously celebrated their eleventy-first birthday? That’s right, everyone’s favorite hobbit, Bilbo Baggins. In The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, Bilbo abruptly slips on the ring of power and pulls a disappearing act, scurrying away from much drunken merriment as he’s not exactly a party animal. What does an Edward Cullen vampire birthday bash look like anyway? Does the Cullen family get together for a pick-up game of super-powered baseball? Is there is a Vamps vs. Wolves charity putt-putt tournament? I bet there are hilarious gag gifts where great aunt Lucille gives Edward a “Team Jacob” shirt.

This week’s promotional materials had a common underlying theme to it – they all centered on creatures of the night. There were character posters and banners for The Dark Knight Rises and the red-band trailer for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, but now it’s time for everyone’s favorite swooning vampire to swoop in and take a stab – or a bite – of the promotional fun. As a part of a scavenger hunt that was held last week, Twilight fans scoured the Internet looking for clues that would lead to the big reveal and once they had all the clues in their hands, it revealed three character posters, one each for Jacob, Bella, and Edward (played by Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart, and Robert Pattinson respectively). Each of the posters has the same profile look and “Forever” tagline.
