Everyone once in a while a man or woman looks at his or her floor and sees large amounts of comic books. This is when that man or woman knows that he or she has either a very unorganized system or a passion that overfloweth. Now, I may not be going anywhere with this, but I’m going to pretend like I am because comics are great, right? Well, yes they are, and some great comics are coming out this week. Oh you want to know what they are? Well we don’t give that information away for free! Oh no! This is The GoD List where you have to read the entire post before you realize all the comics that you should be reading, brohan, but you know what? Following the lead in Scott Snyder’s current run on Batman, DC Comics has posted a graphic containing all of the titles that will be participating in the Batman crossover event Night of the Owls.

Night of the Owls started this week with a prelude in Kyle Higgins and Eddy Barrows’ Nightwing #8 which kickstarted the first issue in the crossover event, Batman #8 by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. The concept of the mini-event is that Gotham City has a sordid past that even Bruce Wayne was unaware of. The Court of Owls, an evil group of assassins, has been controlling the fate of Gotham the entire time. There’s much more to the story including Dick Grayson’s lineage and an all out assault against the Wayne family and other leaders of Gotham City. It’s a war of Bats vs. Owls when most of the Bat-family is called upon to participate.

Henchamania’s runnin’ wild, brother! Everywhere I go, man, all the little Henchsters are askin’ me what The Hench is gonna pick this week! And I gotta look those little Henchsters right in the eye, dude, and I gotta tell them, man, that when The Hench picks his books, you’re gonna know about it, brother. So you gotta remember, Henchamaniacs! You gotta remember to say your prayers, and eat your vitamins, dude. And to all the doubters and non-believers, when The Hench raises the largest long box in the world and drops it down like an atom bomb to the ground, spraying comics from sea to shining sea, dude, you’ll know that The Hench has been reborn and he’s on a mission! Vertigo Comics announced on Tuesday that Scott Snyder would be bringing fan favorite Dustin Nguyen on art duties for the brand new American Vampire miniseries, Lord of Nightmares.

American Vampire is quite simply a beast. Telling the tales of well, American vampires. This series has helped the effort to redefine the idea of the vampire in modern popular culture and in comics, specifically. It’s brutal; it’s violent; it’s scary. But most importantly, it’s good.
