Marvel Reveals New Captain America On ‘The Colbert Report’
After revealing a new Thor on ABC’s The View on Tuesday, Marvel Comics had another big reveal to make on Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report. Marvel Comics Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada joined the show to announce who would be the next Captain America, after Steve Rogers lost his powers in Captain America #21. Sam Wilson a.k.a. The Falcon, Cap’s longtime partner and friend will be taking over the role of Captain America.
Quesada revealed the first image of the new Captain America, which blends the classic costume with The Falcon’s familiar wings. Quesada also presented host Stephen Colbert with a picture of the talk show host as a new replacement Falcon, since Sam Wilson will be otherwise occupied.

Geek Gear: Captain America ‘Rogers Bodybuilding’ Shirt
The $11 t-shirt deal of the day over at TeeFury today is a Captain America-inspired shirt by Ian Leino called “Rogers Bodybuilding.”
The sale began at Teefury today, Monday, February 3, 2014, at midnight EST, and will continue for 24 hours from then, and once it’s over, it will not be sold on the site for $11 anymore, though it will continue into the next day for $14 (look for the After Hours bar at the top).

Watch Now: An Alternate Introduction To Captain America From ‘The Avengers’ Blu-ray

Yesterday we brought you an interesting alternate opening to Marvel Studios’ The Avengers that will appear as an extra on the forthcoming Blu-ray. Today, another deleted scene from the movie has been released online.
You can watch the scene here below.
The scene acts as an alternate introduction to Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), better known to us as Captain America, and prefaces his first scene with S.H.I.E.L.D. honcho Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) in the final cut. We see Cap going about his everyday life in the modern world: pining for his lady love Peggy, riding the subway, and flirting with a coffee shop waitress (Ashley Johnson) who was briefly glimpses being saved by Captain America during the final battle with Loki and the Chitauri. This deleted moment also provides us with a brief look at the MetLife building that was replaced digitally in the final film with Stark Tower, which Steve can be seen sketching during his conversation with the waitress, as well as yet another priceless cameo by the Man himself, Stan Lee.

Disney Releases New Images From ‘The Avengers’
A handful of new images from the upcoming Marvel Studios juggernaut, The Avengers, have been released online by Walt Disney.
Some of the images are of the official variety, showing the likes of Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Tom Hiddleston as Thor villain Loki, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, and Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow. There’s also a couple of unofficial images””one of which shows Johansson and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye filming a scene in front of a green screen, while the other shows stars Evans, Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), and director Joss Whedon on the set.

Top 5 Underrated Captain America Villains
If you have read Captain America comics since you were a wee lad like me, then you are probably excited about Marvel’s newest blockbuster Captain America: The First Avenger.
I for one can hardly wait to see the Star Spangled Avenger appear on the silver screen for the first time, mixing it up with his arch enemies Hydra and the Red Skull. While these villains are certainly not to be underestimated, there are quite a few Cap villains that are.
