The first teaser trailer for Warner Brothers’ much-anticipated comedy sequel, The Hangover Part II, has been released online.

The movie is a follow-up to The Hangover, the 2009 mega-hit that brought in over $467 million worldwide. It told the story of a group of friends in Las Vegas celebrating a couple of days before one is married. Things get a little out of control, and when they awake one morning the groom is missing and none of them has a clue what happened the night before.

The original cast returns in the sequel, this time heading off to Thailand for another attempted wedding…this time trying to play it safe and cautious.

Mel Gibson’s Cameo In ‘The Hangover 2’ Killed Off After Cast & Crew Objection

Recently it was reported that Mel Gibson would have a cameo in The Hangover 2 that compare to Tom Cruise’s Les Grossman character in Tropic Thunder. Cruise’s role, as well as boxer Mike Tyson’s in The Hangover, helped to rejuvenate their careers after some troubles with the public eye, and it was expected that this might do the very same for Gibson.

Instead, we’re now hearing that complications have arisen, and Gibson’s cameo in The Hangover 2 has been scrapped. Director Todd Phillips wanted Mel for the small role, but it sounds like some of his cast and crew (unidentified) were against it, and the plan required halting.

Mel Gibson Set To Make Les Grossman-Like Appearance In ‘The Hangover 2’

It’s been confirmed that a very interesting star will be making an appearance in Todd Phillips‘ comedy sequel, The Hangover 2.

Sources indicate that none other than Mel Gibson will have a role in the movie, and that it will be “larger than life,” much like Tom Cruise’s Les Grossman role in Tropic Thunder. Cruise, much like Gibson, was under a lot of fire for various things before he played Grossman, but when everyone saw the wild and over-the-top performance, most went back to loving him. You have to imagine that this is the overall gameplan for Gibson in The Hangover sequel as well.

SDCC 2010: Preview Night: Comic Con Exclusive Galactus StatueTonight was Preview Night at the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con, and yes, the Geeks of Doom crew was there in full-force.

Below are a bunch of photos we took from the convention floor.

Of note was the Marvel booth, a massive area for sure, half taken up by a recreation of Odin’s Throne in Asgard from their upcoming film Thor (see the Thor movie still of Odin’s Throne HERE).

There’s also a few shots of the Legendary Pictures booth, which showed off some costumes and props from The Dark Knight and Inception, as well as The Hangover (the pic from the latter film is truly a must-see).

A show-stopper at the Con was definitely the areas set up for The Walking Dead TV show, coming soon to AMC, which had a house filled with bloodied corpses in it. Pretty cool.

Globes

Well, the 67th annual Golden Globe Awards were just handed out, and the winners and losers are now here for us to talk about.

The popularity and integrity of the Globes has consistently declined over the years as it became apparent that those who were voting were typically voting based on popularity and not so much on those who are deserving (a trend among awards shows, it would seem). Still, these are the awards that set the table for the big one, the Academy Awards, and what we can start to expect when those are handed out.

The show was actually better than it usually is. Ricky Gervais was a brilliant host, and even though he likely pissed a lot of people off with his edgy humor, it will be impossible to ignore the positive feedback you will hear from his job this evening. The awards played out as expected with a few pleasant surprises and the typical sickening winner from time-to-time.

For those of you who missed the Golden Globes or just didn’t watch them, click on over to the other side to see a rundown of highlights to seek out on YouTube and low points to avoid. Also to be found below is the entire list of nominees, with the winner in each category in bold if you don’t care and just want to peek at who won.
