| ‘Batman: The Killing Joke’ Animated Adaptation Coming To Home Video In 2016
Warner Bros. and DC Comics announced on Friday that they will be producing three new direct-to-video animated features featuring Batman for release in 2016. With Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice poised to explode onto the big screen next March, there will no doubt be another resurgence of interest in Dark Knight-related merchandise. Among the three new animated movies coming our way next year will be an adaptation of what is arguably one of the greatest stories of the Caped Crusader ever told, Batman: The Killing Joke.

| First Look: Jared Leto As The Joker In ‘Suicide Squad’
Today is the 75th anniversary of the Joker’s first appearance in the DC Comics universe (in Batman #1). To mark the occasion, Suicide Squad director David Ayer has revealed the first full, official look at Jared Leto as the Joker in his upcoming Warner Bros. film. Check out the image here below. Earlier this month, Ayer had released the first cast photo from Suicide Squad, with the actors together for a table read, though Leto was notably absent for the gathering. Soon after, the director posted a photo of Leto striking a pose in homage to the Joker cover for the classic DC Comics The Killing Joke, written by Alan Moore. But the actor was not in full-on Joker mode at that point and his face was obscured by the camera he was holding.

| ‘Suicide Squad’: Jared Leto’s Joker Might Be Based On ‘The Dark Knight Returns’
The two times that The Joker has appeared on film, we got two different stylistic approaches. So when we see him a third time in Suicide Squad, we’ll most likely see one that is unlike the other two. Jared Leto will play the third incarnation of the Batman villain in David Ayer‘s film. We’ve seen the transformative process that the actor has undergone to become The Joker through social media, but all of those teases come short of the full reveal. Now, a new report says that Leto’s Joker might actually be based on the character from Frank Miller‘s The Dark Knight Returns. Hit the jump for more.
