First person shooters gives players the opportunity to respawn after they have been killed by another player. So it was only a matter of time before that concept was turned into a movie. In Edge Of Tomorrow, the new movie from Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Mr. & Mrs. Smith), Tom Cruise plays as a soldier with no formal training batting against aliens known as Mimics. The only problem is that he keeps on dying, and then gets revived the next day. Think of it as a intense and gritty version of Groundhog Day, without the humor. Emily Blunt also stars as a fellow soldier who is aware of their precarious situation and helps train Cruise to battle the aliens. Warner Brothers has released the first trailer for the film, which you can watch below.

| ‘Terminator’ Reboot Finds New John Connor In Jason Clarke
The reboot of the Terminator franchise is moving right along, and some intriguing names are involved. The movie, which is said to be titled Terminator: Genesis, will be directed by Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World, Game of Thrones), and now it appears an actor has been chosen to take on the iconic role of John Connor. According to sources, Jason Clarke, who is quickly making a name for himself after memorable performances in movies like Zero Dark Thirty and The Great Gatsby, has entered into talks for the role. If cast, the actor would join Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is expected to return (though it’s not known how exactly yet).

Straight from the good old 86th floor, the Man of Bronze has returned! This is a bold prediction from me, but Doc Savage is Dynamite Entertainment’s new Shadow. I see this title spanning multiple spin-offs and miniseries. Not because of any kind of over-saturation planning by Dynamite, but because it’s THAT good, and the character has THAT much potential. I can’t imagine that writer Chris Roberson had it easy. Not only did he have to write a comic book, he had to write one that not only included mind-bending science, but 1930’s “slang” as well. Roll all of those up together and it had to be a pretty daunting task. But, thankfully, Roberson knows his way around writing comics. In Doc Savage #1, Roberson writes a very well crafted first issue, and, I can only assume, the first part of a storyline that is far from over. This is a great introduction to the world and characters of the Doc Savage universe, and, on its own, a very entertaining story.
