‘Daredevil’ Season 2 Trailer: Say Hello To Elektra

Daredevil Season 2 Elektra

Last week, Netflix released Part One of the Daredevil Season 2 trailer. The first half focused mainly on Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) aka The Punisher and his search for vengeance against those who took his family away from him. The differing ideologies of how justice should be dealt puts the titular hero and the anti-hero on opposite sides. The latter believes that Daredevil (Charlie Cox) is only “half-measure,” that he is “unable to finish the job,” and above all, he believes that The Man Without Fear is a “coward.”

Towards the end of that trailer, we were teased with the appearance of Elektra (Elodie Yung), who greets our hero from the shadows of his apartment. Now a newly released trailer reveals why she has stopped by Hell’s Kitchen, and it isn’t to exchange pleasantries. Check it out below.

With Matt believing that he has crippled crime and driven gangs out of his city, criminal organizations like the Yakuza lie in wait rebuilding and devising plans to rule Hell’s Kitchen. Elektra has vital information that could stop the criminal empire’s extending their reach and says to Matt that she can only trust him with that information. To which he quips, “Well sweetheart, you don’t break into my house and talk to me about trust.”

The trailer then puts their fighting styles on display, and it becomes clear that the two were close at some point in time. As the two work together to stop the Yakuza from succeeding with their plans, we learn that another evil organization called The Hand has already put a plan into motion and deliver a warning that they cannot be stopped. They warn that “The Rising” is coming. It’s not clear if that is just a clever name of their plan or is just a metaphor.

We do get to see some hints of The Punisher, but this trailer was really meant to introduce Elektra to the cast. And it all ends with a little light humor. Overall, it should be an interesting season, especially since it will all culminate with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist unifying as one group of heroes called The Defenders. So far, reviews of Daredevil season 2 have been more or less the same as the reviews of season one. It’s good, and there are flaws, but it is something worth watching.

All 13 episodes of Daredevil season 2 will hit Netflix on March 18.

Just when Matt thinks he is bringing order back to the city, new forces are rising in Hell’s Kitchen. Now the Man Without Fear must take on a new adversary in Frank Castle and face an old flame – Elektra Natchios. Bigger problems emerge when Frank Castle, a man looking for vengeance, is reborn as The Punisher, a man who takes justice into his own hands in Matt’s neighborhood. Meanwhile, Matt must balance his duty to his community as a lawyer and his dangerous life as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, facing a life-altering choice that forces him to truly understand what it means to be a hero.
