Spider-Man: Homecoming title card

Some of you may know that the first trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming drops tonight. But just in case you forgot, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have decided to release a nice teaser image of the Webslinger to serve as a reminder that it is coming.

Those who couldn’t attend the panel at Comic-Con this summer will no longer have to wait or read details of the footage that was shown. Now you can enjoy a nice teaser image that should be able to hold you over until the release of that trailer later tonight. Check it out below.

Let’s just say that Spidey (Tom Holland) won’t be catching a train anytime soon. The image is provided to us by USA Today. As it has been reported, the film will have a John Hughes-vibe to it, with Spidey trying to juggle his responsibilities as a young high school teenager with being the street-wise superhero. Talking to USA Today, Holland said Spider-Man: Homecoming was less of an action film and “more a character piece about this kid who’s struggling to talk to girls and also struggling to save the city.” Again, based on the footage we saw, there are plenty of high school moments that pay homage to Hughes’ work, but there is also plenty of action to go around. If anything, Homecoming will be closer to the comics than any of the previous films.

It will also skip the origins story, as that was skimmed during Captain America: Civil War. So we won’t have to worry about seeing Uncle Ben die again. Just an added note though, Holland is the youngest of the actors who have played Spider-Man. At the age of 20, he’s already played the Webslinger twice, with Spider-Man: Homecoming being his first standalone feature. Tobey Maguire was the first, while Andrew Garfield most recently played him in the Amazing Spider-Man reboot.

We’ll have much more coverage when the trailer is released. But for now, enjoy the image below.

The film also stars Michael Keaton as The Vulture aka Adrian Toomes; Zendaya as Michelle, who may or may not be a certain redhead; Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds; Laura Harrier as Liz Allen; Tony Revolori as Parker’s high school bully Flash Thompson; Logan Marshall-Green, who may or may not be playing Shocker, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark aka Iron Man; Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan; Donald Glover, and more.

Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters on July 7, 2017.
