Last month I reviewed the first issue of this mini-series and found it to be everything I wanted and more and the follow up is no different. Wonder Woman ’77 Meets The Bionic Woman #2 is phenomenal from start to finish. Action packed and full of sly references to that time period and the changes that have occurred since.
The plot thickens in this second issue of Wonder Woman ’77 Meets The Bionic Woman, allowing us our first true glimpse of the leaders of CASTRA, including some familiar faces. We watch our two heroines become closer friends and formulate a plan to find and stop the evil organization before they destroy life as we knew it. It’s not all action and girl power, though. There are some interesting points made in the dialogue that all of us voiced over the years, primarily how exactly do glasses and hairstyles count as a disguise?
Knowing this is a six issue run, I am amazed at how many different costume changes that we are privileged to see. It seems like the writer and artist are giving us as much nostalgia as they possibly can, which more than makes me happy. This comic pleases my seven year old self far more than you can imagine, I was a diehard fan of this and the Batman series (I’m showing my age).
Best line of the book: “Smaller than I expected.” Now, I’m leaving you with that and the knowledge that this is a surefire hit. Make sure to check Wonder Woman ’77 Meets The Bionic Woman out when you get the chance!
