Videos of a fireplace to put on your TV or computer screen this time of year is nothing new. You can even find a few on Netflix. Even without the added benefit of providing heat, they’re relaxing and make wherever you are feel more like home. If you’re a geek looking for a nice cracklin’ fire to put on in the background while working or hanging out with friends and family, Marvel has you covered. They’ve released a collection of videos of the fireplaces in various Marvel heroes’ homes. Each is just over an hour long, and includes Captain America‘s Brooklyn apartment, Ms. Marvel‘s New Jersey home, Thor‘s Asgard home, Iron Man‘s Manhattan apartment, and the Guardians of the Galaxy‘s spaceship and its fancy futuristic fire. | Peter Jackson’s Movie Prop Collection Part 3: John Chambers’ Makeup Kits (Video)
Mythbusters star Adam Savage and his YouTube channel Tested are back with the third video of their visit to Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit director Peter Jackson‘s unbelievable movie prop collection, which could make any movie fan weep with envy. I know I have. Nine times. The first part of the series focused on a Hal 9000 faceplate from Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. The second part moved on to something near and dear to the King Kong (2005) director’s heart, an armature from the original 1933 King Kong. In the third video found below, we get to see some interesting pieces that aren’t actually movie props but are tied to movies: the makeup kits of John Chambers, who worked on numerous classic titles but was also the man who helped the CIA set up the fake movie production seen in Ben Affleck’s Best Picture winner Argo. John Goodman played Chambers in the movie.
