Last year after the Oscars, Jimmy Kimmel showed off a trailer for a completely fake movie titled Movie: The Movie (watch it here) that looked funnier than most parody movies you’ve seen (or ignored) over the past decade or so. This year, naturally, Kimmel had to show the trailer for the sequel, Movie: The Movie 2V. The also fake sequel stars a slew of celebrities, including Jessica Chastain, Channing Tatum, Samuel L. Jackson, Armie Hammer, Amanda Seyfried, Bradley Cooper, Gerard Butler, Rachel Weisz, Matt Damon, Kerry Washington, John Krasinski, Chris Rock, Salma Hayek, Bryan Cranston, Jude Law, Jason Schwartzman, Topher Grace, and even Oprah. Tom Hooper‘s new film, Les Misérables, is based on the musical production by Alain Boublil, Claude-Michel Schönberg, and Herbert Kretzmer, which is of course based upon the 1862 French novel by Victor Hugo. This musical film adaptation, scripted by William Nicholson (Gladiator), features Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, a Frenchman imprisoned for stealing bread, who breaks parole and must escape the tireless police Inspector Javert (Russell Crowe). The pursuit consumes both men’s lives, and after two decades on the run, Valjean finds himself in the midst of the 1832 June Rebellion in Paris where he must confront Javert for the last time. The film’s ensemble is comprised of Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, and the humorous duo of Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen, who play shifty innkeepers.

| ‘Epic’ Trailer: It’s ‘Ferngully’ For The New Generation
A new trailer for Epic, an animated film that follows the secret lives of forest beings protecting their sacred land from a force that seeks to destroy it, has been released. A teenage girl spending time at a relative’s house gets shrunken down to their size and joins the forces of the forest dwellers to help them save the forest world and her world as well. Sure it may sound like a revamped version of Ferngully, but Epic doesn’t look like anything the Blue Sky has done before. The studio also worked on the Ice Age franchise and RIO.
