Avengers: Age of Ultron Hulk Character Poster Header

There was rumors that Hulk would be making an appearance in Captain America: Civil War. With William Hurt reprising his role as General Thunderbolt Ross – someone whom we haven’t seen since The Incredible Hulk – and Mark Ruffalo teasing his character’s appearance through a series of Tweets and Tumblr posts, many thought that we would see Hulk join either Team Iron Man or Team Captain America. With the Russo brothers completing principal photography, Marvel didn’t make any new casting announcements, and it started to look more and more like Ruffalo wasn’t being cast or his casting was being kept a secret.

Now, Ruffalo himself has confirmed that Hulk will not be in Captain America: Civil War. But the actor has a rather good explanation as to why Hulk will be noticeably absent in the film. Find out why in the full story below.

Avengers: Age of Ultron Captain America Thor Chris Evans Chris Hemsworth

The post-credit scenes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sets up the events of future films or the next phase. We can guess which film effects what based on the order which you are supposed to watch the films. As you might have guessed, the events in Ant-Man set up the events for Captain America: Civil War, with Paul Rudd, and many other members of the Avengers reprising their roles for the sequel. The film is just wrapping up production, with Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 still under development prepping for production.

There will be a huge lack of an Asgardian presence in Civil War, but it appears there will be a small Easter Egg for Thor fans. In a new interview with The LA Times, Jaime Alexander, who plays Lady Sif in the Thor franchise, says that the events in Civil War will have an impact in Thor: Ragnarok. More on the story below.

Martin Freeman

Of all the roles in Captain America: Civil War, the one that is still unknown to many belongs to Martin Freeman. We know that Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Jeremy Renner, and Frank Grillo will all reprise their respective Marvel Cinematic Universe roles, while William Hurt will return as General Thunderbolt Ross, his role from The Incredible Hulk. The film also marks the cinematic debut of Chadwick Boseman, who will play T’Challa aka Black Panther; and Daniel Brühl, who is also in the film, says he is playing Baron Zemo, although that has yet to be confirmed.

Though we will eventually find out about Freeman’s role, there were rumors that the Sherlock star could be playing a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent or some international diplomat. Now in a new interview, the actor teases his character in the highly anticipated film. More on this below.
