Check Out The Honest Trailer For ‘Cars’ / ‘Cars 2’

With Pixar trying to ring the cash register again with Cars 3 next week, the gang at Screen Junkies decided to tackle the original 2006 film for their Honest Trailer. Solely based on the strength of the name Pixar, this movie somehow earned over $460 million worldwide. In full disclosure, I never saw Cars and never cared to. This was during the time where my younger sister was too old for kids movies, and I was yet to have kids so animation was kinda dead to me as a moviegoer. And when Cars 2 came out in 2011, all I ever heard about that one was, “it’s the worst Pixar movie ever.†Anyway, because… apparently someone demanded it, we’re getting a trilogy. So sit back and watch as narrator Jon Bailey shreds some of the lesser material in the Pixar catalog.
Check out the Honest Trailer below.

Disney In Depth: Can Pixar Regain Its Glory?

For 15 years, one computer-animation studio dominated Hollywood with 11 major hit films, earning awards a plenty and worldwide critical acclaim for its output. Then came Cars 2. And Brave. Lest we forget Monsters University (which I actually found entertaining) and an entire year (2014) with no feature films. Pixar was a powerhouse, but now its corporate owner (Disney) has an unbeatable animation studio of its own. The question we all continue to wonder is if Pixar can reclaim its title as an unstoppable force.
Disney In Depth previews the recent past and future of Pixar, hoping to determine if John Lasseter‘s computer-animation studio can finally be able to dismiss naysayers, once and for all, that its hit streak was a one-time experience.

3D Blu-ray Review: Cars 2

Cars 2
5-Disc Blu-ray 3D | 2-Disc Blu-ray | DVD
DIRECTED BY: John Lasseter, Brad Lewis
WRITTEN BY: Ben Queen
STARRING: Owen Wilson, Larry the Cable Guy, Michael Caine, Emily Mortimer, John Turturo, Bonnie Hunt, Jason Isaacs, Thomas Kretschmann, Eddie Izzard
Disney*Pixar
RELEASE DATE: November 1, 2011
I love Pixar movies. And I don’t just mean that loosely; I mean I truly and honestly LOVE Pixar movies. From that first wide-eyed viewing of Toy Story back in 1995 to today, they’ve released some of the best (and some of my own personal favorite) movies of all time.
Even my least favorite Pixar movie—2006’s Cars—is a movie I still very much enjoy, despite the fact that I went in thinking I wouldn’t be a fan (shame on me for thinking such things about a Pixar flick). That’s just how good they are. And so you can imagine my and many, many others’ surprise when a veritable landslide of negative feedback started flowing in upon the release of their latest feature, Cars 2.
Could it be so? Could there really be a…bad *gulps* Pixar movie? Or was this just a case of constant perfection leading people to go out of their way to seek out imperfections and declare failure no matter how good or bad the actual film was?

Cars 2
Directed by John Lasseter
Starring (voices): Larry the Cable Guy, Owen Wilson, Michael Caine, Emily Mortimer, John Turturro, Eddie Izzard
Release Date: June 24, 2011
Any human aspect or human presence cannot be located in the original Cars or in Pixar’s latest film Cars 2. This is the films’ biggest set back. We who have become transfixed by the genius behind the films of Pixar (which is celebrating 25 years of studio existence this year) remember all too vividly the ruthless food critic, Anton Ego, of Ratatouille swallowing a bit of ratatouille and immediately becoming reacquainted with a childhood he had seemingly forgotten. And who can forget Andy’s feeling of anguish and the sad grimace that takes over his face in Toy Story 3 when he finally figures out that he needs to give away his toys. Almost all of the successful Pixar films have an unbreakable relationship with all things human. Cars 2 veers from that ostensibly perfect trajectory to embrace a world where no existence of human life has ever been documented. This all sounds a tad bleak, but that is the world we are thrust into with the Cars’ films.

Teaser Trailer For Pixar Animation’s ‘Cars 2’ Is Online
|
 |

Last month, a very brief logo reveal trailer showed up for Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation’s sequel, Cars 2. For fans of the first movie and those looking forward to the sequel, it was nice to see just a little something, but let’s be honest here, actual trailers are always more exciting.
The first teaser trailer for Cars 2 is now here to be seen via Yahoo! Movies, and while it too is fairly short, it does show us a lot more and offers a better idea of where the follow-up to 2006’s Cars will go.
This time around, Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) is off to compete in a race to determine the fastest car on the planet, but the movie sounds like it will focus on perhaps the most popular character from the original, Mater (Larry the Cable Guy), who finds himself caught up in a very James Bond-like adventure.
You can head over to the other side now to read a full synopsis of the movie and check out the teaser trailer for yourself!
