| Disney Execs Not Pleased With ‘Rogue One’ First Cut; Expensive Reshoots Planned |
 |

Now that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Captain America: Civil War have been released and made their respective impacts, the next highly-anticipated big screen blockbuster event of 2016 is Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The first in a series of and prequels and spin-offs featuring characters and events integral to the evolution of the Star Wars universe, Rogue One tells the tale of the group of brave Rebellion soldiers who stole the plans to the Death Star that set in motion the narrative of Episode IV: A New Hope. The first trailer premiered almost two months ago to an enthusiastic worldwide response. Executives at Disney are counting on Rogue One to bring in global box office grosses equal to or greater than those of last December’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but according to a recent article by Page One’s Emily Smith, those same execs are less than thrilled with director Gareth Edwards after viewing his first cut of the film.

| Chris Miller Teases ‘Star Wars: Han Solo’ Film With Photo Of Signature Weapon |
 |

There are some things you can count on Han Solo having with him at all times: a vest, charm, wit, and of course let’s not forget his trusty blaster. The legendary Star Wars character will be getting his own film as a part of the Star Wars Anthology Films or what some may know right now as the Untitled Han Solo Star Wars Anthology Film. Directed by Chris Miller and Phil Lord, the solo film has yet to find a lead actor to play the pilot of the Millennium Falcon, “the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs.” Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!) is the current frontrunner, with Jack Reynor (Transformers: Age of Extinction) and Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Eddie The Eagle) also in consideration. Considering today is May 4, otherwise known as Star Wars Day, aside from the usual celebrations, there are a couple of teases that are being dropped here and there, and one of them has just been dropped on Twitter by Chris Miller, who posted an image of Solo’s signature weapon with an interesting hashtag. Check it out here below.

| Young Han Solo Spinoff Cuts Shortlist To Five
Just moments after Disney announced that Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg would reunite for Indiana Jones 5, comes word that the studio has narrowed down their shortlist for actors to play the lead role in the young Han Solo film to five. Last year it was revealed that around 2,500 actors had auditioned for the role, indicating that Disney was open to any idea. That list shrunk, with eight A-listers vying for the role. Now that list has gotten even smaller. According to various reports, there are five actors now in contention for the role. Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Eddie The Eagle), Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!) Jack Reynor (Transformers: Age of Extinction), Blake Jenner (Glee), and Jack O’Connell (Unbroken) are the five actors up for the role. More on the story below.

| Wait, How Many Actors Auditioned For The Young Han Solo Spinoff?
It’s not going to be easy to find the right actor to play the role of Han Solo in the untitled young Han Solo spinoff film from The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord. Despite that overwhelming challenge to cast the right person, if anyone can do it those two can. But how can you find someone who can be as charismatic, suave, and dashing as Han Solo? This is a massive project after all, and the character is a fan favorite amongst the Star Wars community, so it’s not like you can just make a shortlist and hope that you find the right person from said list. So Disney and Lucasfilm is going through great lengths to find the perfect actor to play the legendary smuggler, so much so that the rumored number of actors who are auditioning for the role have reached more than 2,500. Check out the full story below.
