Not that it’s much of a shocking result, but Conan O’Brien‘s brand new late night talk show on TBS, Conan, debuted last night to big results.

The show brought in higher ratings than all other late night contenders, including Jay Leno and his Tonight Show, David Letterman and his Late Show, John Stewart‘s Daily Show, and all others.

Conan lured 4.2 million sets of eyeballs (3.3 million in the coveted ages 18-49 demographic) to his new show, while Leno had 3.5 million and Letterman had 3.4 million. Even more interestingly perhaps, is that the median average age of O’Briens viewers was 30 years old, while competition Leno’s median age was 59 and Letterman’s was 53. It’s becoming more and more clear what late night shows the Fox News crowd is into.

ElviraApparently, horror hostess Elvira wants you to know that she is NOT a witch.

In a recently released video, the Mistress Of The Dark responds to Jon Stewart’s recent comparison of her to GOP Senate nominee Christine O’Donnell on an episode of the Daily Show.

In the video, Elvira parodies O’Donnell’s campaign platform, making a political statement of her own, while promoting the latest episode of her late-night horror series Elvira’s Movie Macabre, where she hosts viewings of b-movie horror films (this week’s appropriately being Werewolf of Washington).

See below for Elvira’s message, which arrived via email today, along with the embed of the video.

Robot Chicken Star Wars

Robot Chicken and Family Guy were both given a special blessing by George Lucas himself to create special episodes of their show that would spoof the classic Star Wars saga of films. So far, everything we’ve seen of these specials (with at least the third spoof from Family Guy expected) has been hilarious, and it’s clear that when done right, Star Wars spoofs can go on for ever and ever and ever.

The folks over at LucasFilm have come to this realization, and according to reports, have entered into a new deal with Robot Chicken creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich to become creative talents involved in a new comedic animated Star Wars series. Brendan Hay, who writes for The Daily Show, is one of the names brought in to work on the series, and Todd Grimes will be a director. Jennifer Hill (The Backyardians) will be a producer.

George Lucas’s Blockbusting, a nearly 1,000-page paperback, takes a look at 300 of the most critically and financially successful movies of all time (up until 2005) and delves into the business aspects, like revenues and costs, as well as technology and trends.

In his 7-minute segment on the show, Lucas did less talking about the book and more responding to Stewart’s jokingly fanboy queries about the Star Wars prequels. Check out the video of Lucas’s appearance here below.
