Production for Jurassic World 2 began a little over a month ago. The film, directed by J.A. Bayona (A Monster Calls), is set a few years after the events of the first film. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are both set to reprise their respective roles, but other than that, we don’t know much about the sequel.

However, rumor has it, the film will be scarier than the first, and judging by the first official photo that has been released, you wouldn’t want to be anywhere near the Dino exhibit of a museum. Check it out below.

The tragic passing of Carrie Fisher hit everyone pretty hard last week. Not only was she a major figure of the Star Wars universe, she was also a writer and someone who was able to overcome the darkest parts of her life to become an inspiration. It’s insensitive to talk about what will happen to her Princess Leia character (she will always be royalty) now that she is gone, but here we are.

There is a new report that says she was to have a larger role in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VIII and Episode IX. Rian Johnson (director of Episode VIII) and Colin Trevorrow (director of Episode IX) are set to discuss how Leia will fit into the future of the franchise with Lucasfilm in the coming weeks. Though Pacific Rim was a bit underwhelming in the U.S, where it grossed $101 million, but found huge overseas numbers, particularly in China, where it grossed $111 million. Those numbers were just enough to garner a sequel, Pacific Rim 2, that will be directed by Steven DeKnight. Currently, the film stars John Boyega and Scott Eastwood, and it’s still not clear if anyone from the first film will be returning. While Charlie Hunnam has said he will not be reprising his role in the sequel, Guillermo del Toro that most of the original cast would return.

With most the major pieces already in place, it was only a matter of time before Legendary would be announcing a start date for the production. Now the production company can say that Pacific Rim 2 will begin lensing this November, and Chinese actress Jing Tian will be joining the cast. More on the story below.

Ahead of the panel scheduled to be held on Saturday at 12:30 pm in the San Diego Comic-Con’s fabled Hall H, Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. have unveiled the first poster for their upcoming giant monster movie spectacle Kong: Skull Island.

Last week, the first image from Kong was revealed. Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts and stars Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, and John Goodman are expected to be in attendance for the Saturday panel.

Even with all the problems it had, interest in Pacific Rim 2 remains strong. The film recently cast John Boyega as son to Idris Elba’s character, and scheduled a February 2018 release date.

But it appears that he won’t be the only actor to be in the film. According to new reports, Scott Eastwood – Clint Eastwood’s son – may be joining Boyega for the larger-than-life bouts between the Kaiju and the Jaegers. More on the story below.
