| SNL 40: Melissa McCarthy Revives Chris Farley’s Matt Foley (Video) |
 |

Tonight’s Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special has seen a lot of reuniting of past and present cast members, musical guests, hosts, and more, as well as tributes to alumni who have passed on. In one said tribute of the night, actress and three-time SNL host Melissa McCarthy revived the Matt Foley character, made popular by the late Chris Farley. McCarthy made an appearance during a Weekend Update segment hosted by Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Jane Curtin (all past Weekend Update hosts), coming out dressed in the motivational speaker’s classic duds — thick black glasses, plaid jacket, green necktie, and pants that constantly need adjusting. Watch the video here below from the SNL 40 special of the entire Weekend Update segment, which includes the McCarthy as Matt Foley bit, as well as Emma Stone doing the late Gilda Radner’s Roseanne Roseannadanna character. Also embedded below is the original Chris Farley skit which featured Chris Spade and guest Christina Applegate.

| Golden Globes 2015: Watch Tina Fey & Amy Poehler’s Monologue
Tonight marked Tina Fey and Amy Poehler‘s return to NBC for their third and final time hosting the Golden Globe Awards ceremony. Leading up to the event, the former SNL cast mates said they wouldn’t be holding back on the jokes this year and that everyone was a potential target. As expected Bill Cosby, who’s been in the news a lot lately for allegations of rape, was on the chopping block as both comediennes did spot-on impressions of the comedian and JELL-O pudding pusher. Other celebrities highlighted in the opening were actor George Clooney and his activist lawyer wife Amal Alamuddin Clooney, as well as Wes Anderson, Emma Stone, Matthew McConaughey, and as usual, fellow SNL alum Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Watch Fey and Poehler’s entire opening monologue from the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards here below.

Rated PG-13 | 142 Minutes
Release Date: May 2, 2014 “His greatest battle begins…” When Stan Lee and Steve Ditko created Spider-Man in 1962, they introduced something new to the world of comics: the flawed superhero with everyday problems. The insecurities and anxieties of nerdy high school student Peter Parker changed the public’s perception of comic book superheroes – it made them relatable. When Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man swung onto screens in 2002, it was a massive success and a cultural phenomenon. For its time, Spider-Man was the only film to reach $100 million in its first weekend, had the largest opening weekend gross of all time, and was the most successful film based on a comic book. It was the The New Millennium’s equivalent to Richard Donner’s Superman or Tim Burton’s Batman. In 2004, Spider-Man 2 grossed $783 million worldwide and received universal acclaim from critics. A decade later, Raimi’s follow-up is still considered one of the best superhero films ever made. 2007’s Spider-Man 3, however, completely ruined Marvel’s most popular (and profitable) superhero series beyond repair. For Sony, the only way to move forward with the Spider-Man franchise was to reboot it.

| ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Post-Credits Stinger Will Be ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’ Scene
(I used to love that game.) Spider-Man has teamed up with the X-Men countless times in the comics and video games and on Saturday morning television. Yet the odds of the two Marvel Comics properties uniting on the silver screen has long seemed unlikely due to different movie studios owning their rights and being heavily reticent to crossovers. In a somewhat unprecedented move, however, it’s been revealed that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will feature as its post-credits highlight a special preview of X-Men: Days of Future Past.
