Each and every week “Heel Heat!” MK2Fac3 and “Babyface Pop!” Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of July 25, 2012. Single issues and trades, they’re all here. I’ve intentionally taken about a week off from writing for the site, with good reason. The shooting in Aurora, CO, has affected me in a way that I have a very hard time expressing. The simple fact is that a completely insane and terrible person decided that he would murder a bunch of people for no reason. In my opinion, this person doesn’t have a name. He shouldn’t be given a chance to be known by anyone and his name shouldn’t be present on the lips of anyone. The majority of us who write for this site and plenty of those of us who read this site were present at midnight screenings across the country. This could have happened to any one of us, but it didn’t. It happened to a group of people who are very similar to us, and they should be remembered. They should be honored, and I’ve been trying to get an idea to honor these people, but nothing I could think of would be enough. So, if you don’t mind, I’d like to list their names so that we don’t forget. They’re the people who we should remember, and they’re the people we should be talking about, so to Jessica Ghawi, Matt McQuinn, Micayla Medek, John Larimer, Alex Sullivan, Alex Teves, Jonathan Blunk, Jesse Childress, AJ Boik, Rebecca Ann Wingo, Gordon W. Cowden, and Veronica Moser-Sullivan, we know who you are, we care about who you are, and we won’t forget you. Now back to your regularly scheduled The GoD List….

| Digital Comics Deal: Top Shelf’s Cyber Con 5 Day Sale
Top Shelf and Comixology have teamed up to provide special deal to honor San Diego Comic-Con while also giving a nice gift to those of us who couldn’t make it to San Diego this weekend with new releases and a half off sale. Now, I’m not going to sit here and give you a bunch of examples of things you should read and things you shouldn’t, because honestly Top Shelf books range in audience style. There are comics for adults that aren’t good for kids and there are books for little kids that aren’t going to be enjoyed by a lot of adults. And while not all of these comics are for everyone, there is something here for anyone.

Each and every week “Yes! Yes! Yes!“ MK2Fac3 and “What’s Wrong With MK2Factor3?“ Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of May 30, 2012. Single issues and trades, they’re all here. Ladies and gentlemen, I regret to inform you that this week is the fifth week of the month, and it’s the Wednesday after a holiday here in the United States. These factoids typically add up to the fact that there just aren’t going to be that many comics in your local stores this week. And while there won’t be too many single issues, there are some high profile issues, as well as plenty of great new collections coming out this week. Now, if you haven’t been following this list for the last couple of decades, we’ll also be having a section of this week’s The GoD List that also shines a nice light on some comics that you can check out that you may have missed… since, you know, the light week and all. With all of this information, please continue as we provide you with all the information that you need to be armed with when you step inside your local comic book shop (or online retailer).

Animal Man by Jeff Lemire and Travel Foreman is easily one of the best titles of the DC Relaunch. The comic does everything it should. What Lemire does in The Hunt is craft a perfect, classic, horror story. The comic starts normally enough in the vein of the radical Animal Man who fights on behalf of animal rights, but it quickly takes a dark and twisted turn that takes Buddy Baker’s life and places it on its head by involving his family closely with his power set. We are also introduced to a group of hunters that are looking for Buddy Baker, but more importantly, they’re looking for his family members.
