Repo Men Poster

Not much has been said about the upcoming science fiction movie Repo Man so far, but all of that changes now with the massive Merry Christmas release of the official synopsis, a new poster and image, and best of all, a shiny new Red Band trailer for all of us big kids to enjoy.

The movie sounds like it has a very cool concept in which Jude Law works as a Repo Man, though not the kind of repossession work that you and I are familiar with. See — in the future, a company has developed artificial organs that run a lot of cash, and when folks aren’t able to pay up, they send their best men out to reacquire the property…if you catch my drift. Of course, with a little twist of the plot, things will get very interesting between Law and his partner (Forest Whitaker).

Repo Man also stars Liev Schrieber, RZA, Alice Braga, and Carice van Houten. It is directed by Miguel Sapochnik and will be released everywhere on April 2, 2010.

Head on over to the other side to read the full synopsis and watch the NSFW trailer. Poster above and image below can both be enlarged with a click!

Game Review: ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ Uncaged Edition

X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Starring: Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber
Platform: XBox 360
Uncaged Edition
Developer: Raven Software
Publisher: Activision
Release Date: May 1, 2009

As much as I hate to go all cliche on you guys, it feels like this has to be mentioned every single time you’re dealing with a movie-related video game: they just never seem to work. With video games based on movies, and with movies based on video games, on most occasions, you will find yourself disappointed. On some rare occasions, however, you do find one that works out, and this is the case for X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Keep in mind, this Wolverine game was in-development for quite a while by Raven Software, so while a good chunk of it inherited many components of the movie of the same name, the rest of the game follows a line that Raven had previously set. This along with the fact that the game runs a good 10-12 hours allowed the developers to make a movie-based game while still remaining as faithful as possible to this beloved character.

The game is set up in a sort of flashback style. The first level sees you running through the jungle after your helicopter goes down. After certain points throughout the game, you’ll find yourself back in the jungle again while recollecting what happened then. Surrounding the various jungle level flashbacks, you’ll find yourself escaping the Alkali lake facility, inside of a Cybernetics lab, outside Alkali lake, and many other locations. One of the cool features of the game is Wolverine’s ferel senses. With these senses, if you’re ever stuck or curious, you can turn them on and catch a scent on which direction you need to go, see objects that are of importance or are dangerous, and also which things in a location you can use against enemies.

Movie Review: X-Men Origins: Wolverine

X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Directed by Gavin Hood
Starring Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Danny Huston, Ryan Reynolds
Rated PG-13
Release date: May 1, 2009

When X-Men Origins: Wolverine was leaked onto the internet and the flood of angry fanboys littered the interwebs forums with negative reactions, I was one of the many fanboys that were hesitant to go see the film in the theater. But mulling it over, I realized that many of the comic book films that I actually like are ones no fanboy will admit to liking (e.g., Watchmen, Daredevil, Fantastic Four), so I decided to jump feet first into the movie.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine explains the film in a nutshell. The movie tells the tale of how the mutant James Logan (Hugh Jackman) became Wolverine, the Adamantium-laced killing machine we all know and love. Want to see Wolvie as a small child with bone claws? Fall in love with a Canadian hottie? Fight in various World Wars and battle his brother turned nemesis Sabertooth (Liev Schreiber)? It is all here in the movie filled with action, surprises, and a tale of a man who has loved, lost, and killed along the way.

Principal photography commences this week on the Columbia Pictures production Salt, an espionage action thriller starring Angelina Jolie (Wanted, Changeling, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Bone Collector). Phillip Noyce (The Bone Collector, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger) directs. The original screenplay is written by Kurt Wimmer (The Recruit, The Thomas Crown Affair), with a current re-write by Brian Helgeland (Mystic River, Man On Fire, The Taking Of Pelham 1 2 3). Salt is produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers, 1408, G.I. Joe) and Sunil Perkash (Enchanted). Executive producers are Ric Kidney and Mark Vahradian.

In Columbia Pictures’ Salt, Angelina Jolie stars as Evelyn Salt, a CIA officer who swore an oath to duty, honor, and country. When she is accused by a defector of being a Russian sleeper spy, Salt goes on the run to clear her name and ultimately prove she is a patriot. Using all her skills and years of experience as a covert operative, she must elude capture and protect her husband or the world’s most powerful forces will erase any trace of her existence.

Liev Schreiber stars as Winter, Salt’s boss and friend on the Russian desk at the CIA, and Chiwetel Ejiofor plays Peabody, a CIA counter-intelligence officer.

New ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ Trailer!

WolverineNot too long after The Day the Earth Stood Still tried to make you see their movie by proclaiming it the only place to see the new official trailer for X-Men Origins: Wolverine, MySpace now has the trailer to check out in the comfort of your own home — far, far away from Keanu Reeves.

Watch the video right here below!

I was seriously skeptical of what this movie was going to become, but with the oddball hiring of Gavin Hood to direct and the sweet cast to play all these heroes we haven’t seen on film yet, I couldn’t help but be interested. With this trailer, though, I think that interest may have been transformed into a certain level of excitement. It looks really bad-ass, I have to admit. Really!

The movie stars Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth, Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Taylor Kitsch as Gambit, and Danny Huston as Stryker.

Wolverine is set for a May 1, 2009 release.
