| Geek Peek: First Look At ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ (Images)
And this time, we will get it right. Or at least we can hope that Simon Kinberg gets it right as he makes his directorial debut with X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which as you could have guessed, will be a loose adaptation of the “Dark Phoenix Saga” comics storyline written by Chris Claremont. Though, this wouldn’t be the first time that the X-Men franchise has attempted Dark Phoenix in a film. In 2006, X-Men: The Last Stand tried to use a resurrected Jean Grey (then played by Famke Janssen) as the Dark Phoenix who was being manipulated by Magneto (then played by Ian McKellen). Now with the film franchise’s timeline being rebooted, we can look forward to some wrongs being righted. We are getting our first look at Dark Phoenix, which includes our very first peek at Jessica Chastain‘s villainous character. Check them out below.

A second trailer has been released for Murder on the Orient Express, the latest adaptation of the 1934 Agatha Christie novel of the same name directed by and starring Kenneth Branagh as renowned fictional detective Hercule Poirot. | Drew Goddard To Direct Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin In ‘X-Force’
Following the success of Deadpool, Ryan Reynolds teased the idea of getting an X-Force film off the ground. The film would follow a black-ops team of mutants, led by the time-traveling Cable, that would take a more proactive stance against threats to mutantkind. Recently, it was confirmed that Joe Carnahan (Smokin’ Aces) would pen the script. But that still left the film without a director. Now there’s word that Fox has tapped Drew Goddard, writer of films like Cloverfield and Deadpool 2, to write and direct X-Force. More on the story below.

| FOX Gives Full-Series Order To X-Men Show ‘The Gifted’ From Matt Nix, Bryan Singer
In addition to the recent FX series Legion, which was recently renewed for a second season, FOX has also been developing another X-Men spinoff TV series from Burn Notice and The Comedians creator Matt Nix. Some of the things we’ve known about it up to this point include that it would be set in the X-Men universe with mutants, that FOX had ordered a pilot episode set to be directed by longtime X-Men movie director Bryan Singer, and that Jamie Chung would star as Blink. A handful of months after ordering the pilot, FOX has now given a full series order to the show along with an official title: The Gifted. They’ve also released a brief teaser, which can be found below along with more details on the story and cast.
