Even with some of the negative publicity regarding Rogue One: A Star Wars Story reshoots, there is still a heavy interest in seeing how Star Wars‘ first theatrical spinoff film will play out for audiences. So far, trailers have proven to be very entertaining and have shown us that that they don’t have to rely on having Jedi or Sith, but instead can focus on the really gritty aspects of the rarely seen ground war. Previously released images have also teased what a ground war Star Wars would look like, and a new set of images gives us a better look at some of the characters and their new gear.

An official trailer was released earlier this month for a documentary titled The Prequels Strike Back: A Fan’s Journey.

The documentary revisits Star Wars creator George Lucas’s critically bombarded prequel trilogy, and follows a fan boldly seeking to answer one big question: are the prequels REALLY as bad as many fans think they are? To answer this—or attempt to—he talks to fans of the franchise and others to collect their present day perspectives on the prequels.

Some Star Wars fans want to see one of the spinoff movies focus on the Obi-Wan Kenobi character played in the original trilogy by Alec Guinness, and played in the prequel trilogy by Ewan McGregor.

Instead of waiting to see if the character will eventually gets a spinoff, these fans, Rich Williamson and Paul Holub, created a fan made teaser trailer for their own Obi-Wan spinoff titled Kenobi: A Star Wars Story, which also “stars” McGregor.

Kenny Baker, who became an international star for portraying R2-D2, the lovable iconic droid in the Star Wars franchise, has died after fighting a long illness, according to CNN. He was 81.

Like Peter Mayhew, David Prowse, Anthony Daniels, or even James Earl Jones in a way, the British-born Baker became a household name to the immense legions of Star Wars fans, who span almost 45 years of generational adoration for the franchise by donning the instantly recognizable R2-D2 costume. Not many people knew what the diminutive actor looked like in real life, but Star Wars fans wore a proud badge of honor knowing that it was Baker inside the R2 unit, a sort of early trivia nugget before the trivia boom started in the 1980s and never let its grip on popular culture.

Finding the right person to play Han Solo wasn’t easy, but directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller found their smuggler in Hail, Caesar! star Alden Ehrenreich. The film won’t be released until 2018, but we are slowly learning more about it. In recent weeks, rumors like Solo appearing in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story have been shot down, but there has also been confirmation that Chewbacca would appear.

Now there is word that another legendary Star Wars character will make an appearance in Solo’s solo film. According to a new report Lando Calrissian will be part of the film, and it’s who might be playing him that has many of us interested. The Martian and Community star Donald Glover is being eyed to play him. More on the story below.
