The digital movie rental of the day over at Amazon today is David Fincher‘s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo for only $.99.

This deal is valid through today, Thursday, May 17, 2012, until 11:59pm PST. Once you activate the rental through Amazon’s Instant Video on demand service, you’ll have access to the movie for 24 hours. If you’re interested in purchasing the digital version, the cost is $12.99.

Also, if you’d like to own a physical copy of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, the Blu-ray/DVD Combo Edition is available for $22.44 while the DVD is $19.96. Scenario: 27-year-old Adam Frazier (aka Famous Monster) gains access to a time machine and travels back to 1990, where a 6-year-old Adam is lying on the floor playing with his collection of ToyBiz Marvel Superheroes (complete with carrying case).

Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, and the Incredible Hulk have been forced to put aside their differences and work together to defeat the devastating (and educated) tag-team of Dr. Doom and Dr. Octopus, who are attempting to take over my mother’s kitchen – a strategic move that will no doubt leave scuff marks on the linoleum floor.

After the muted and mixed response that greeted yesterday’s unveiling of the film’s new poster, Marvel Studios and Paramount Pictures have released the second and most likely final trailer for The Avengers.

Now this is more like it. I had great hope that the new trailer would be the eyeball-roasting blast of awesomeness it really has to be, and needless to say that hope was not misplaced. Any and all doubts I may have had about this movie have officially been chucked out the window where they will not be caught in mid-air by the Hulk.

Marvel Studios and Paramount Pictures have unleashed the final theatrical poster for their upcoming superhero team feature The Avengers, loaded with star quality and credits and the works. You can check it out here below.

It’s not the most exciting image Marvel could have used for the poster heralding the film that has been in the works ever since Samuel L. Jackson stepped out of the shadows during the end credits scene in the first Iron Man, but it works well. I think it’s just a shame that the studio couldn’t have rounded up the entire cast at the same time for a poster photo shoot rather than put together this somewhat sloppily composed image.
