| SDCC 2017: ‘The Flash’ Trailer and Casting News!
More news rolls in from San Diego Comic Con, this time about everyone’s favorite speedster, Barry Allen and CW’s The Flash. Perhaps the most consistently entertaining and engrossing of the DC(TV)EU, The Flash ended its third season with Barry (Grant Gustin) saving Iris (Candice Patton) from death at the hands of Savitar. Unfortunately, as often happens with Flash’s super speed, space and time were disturbed causing Barry to surrender himself to the Speed Force. Fear not, though as The Flash returns this October for season 4 and according to SDCC 2017, he’ll have new villains and actors to deal with. More below.

Air Date: Tuesday, May 23rd, 2017, 8:00pm Warning! Spoilers below for the season 3 finale of The Flash! Last week’s Flash was full of tears, as Barry (Grant Gustin), desperate to save Iris (Candice Patton) as the clock wound down, went back in time to get Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) to help him steal an energy source from A.R.G.U.S. This energy was needed to fuel the “speedforce bazooka” that Tracy Brand (Anne Dudek) built, inspired by her muse and crush HR (Tom Cavanagh). After a harrowing reenactment of Jaws, they retrieved it and Barry and Snart said goodbye in a bittersweet moment for Captain Cold fans. The team went to Infantino Street to stop Savitar from killing Iris, but it didn’t work. Savitar ran Iris through and Barry held her body in his arms. Vibe (Carlos Valdes) and Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) faced off. Spoilers below.

The Flash
Season 3 Episode 22: “Infantino Street”
Directed by Michael Allowitz
Written by Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Grainne Godfree
Starring Grant Gustin, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Panabaker, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Tom Cavanagh, Keiynan Lonsdale, Tom Felton
Created by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, Geoff Johns
The CW
Air Date: Tuesday, May 16th, 2017, 8:00pm Last week on The Flash, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) came up with a flawed (but from the heart) plan to prevent Barry (Grant Gustin) from making new memories, so that Savitar-the-Barry-remnant wouldn’t know what it was. It was too successful. Barry and Savitar got complete amnesia. Both myself and Iris (Candice Patton) were happy to see this lighthearted Barry without all the darkness and pain, falling in love with her all over again. Unfortunately, Barry was also crucial to a court case, resulting in a firebug walking. Said firebug attacked, but Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) had no powers because Savitar never awakened them, and Barry couldn’t control his. Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) showed up to help Cisco and Julian (Tom Felton) fix the mess. They got to the Caitlin underneath. HR and Tracy (Tom Cavanagh, Anne Dudek) started falling in love. She finished the “speed force bazooka” but it needs a lot of energy… energy that is guarded by King Shark. Spoilers below.

Well, that was fast. We just learned that Sam Raimi was on a shortlist of potential directors to helm The Flash. Robert Zemeckis and Matthew Vaughn are also among the top names. But just after that list was reported, word is that Raimi has taken himself out of the running. And that’s just the beginning. Another potential director we didn’t know about, Marc Webb, is also passing. It appears that Barry Allen will be without a father in the standalone film as well, as Billy Crudup has also dropped out. More on these stories below.
