‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Blu-ray Release Date, Details Officially Announced
After weeks of speculation regarding its inevitable home video bow, Lucasfilm and Walt Disney Home Entertainment have officially announced that Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be coming to Blu-ray and DVD next month. In addition to a full list of special features we can expect, cover art for the individual editions were also unveiled today. There will also be some retailer exclusive editions featuring extra bonus content and special packaging.

‘LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Video Game Trailer
Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment has announced the latest in their series of LEGO video games. The latest returns the franchise to the Star Wars universe to take on the most recent movie blockbuster, The Force Awakens.
A trailer for game, which is naturally titled LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, has also been released, which remakes that insanely popular first trailer for the movie with a little bit of that LEGO style.

George Lucas Talks Selling ‘Star Wars,’ ‘The Force Awakens,’ Plans To Make Original Films
|
Back in 2012, George Lucas sold Lucasfilm to Disney for $4.05 billion dollars, most of which went directly to educational charity. Since then the Mouse House has released Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which is on track to beat Avatar for the title of highest grossing box office film of all time. But while we wait for that news to happen. With the film breaking all sorts of records and being recognized for being one of the best Star Wars films since A New Hope – even though some have criticized that The Force Awakens is a retread on that story – there are some people who are unhappy with what the franchise has become, and that person is none other than Lucas himself.
After the jump, you will find out why he is so unhappy with the film (despite saying that he was pleased with it after watching an early preview), why Hollywood has become so reliant on franchises, and his plans to make original films in the future.

‘The Simpsons’ Predicted New ‘Star Wars’ & ‘Alvin and The Chipmunks’ Back In 2009 (Image)
This past weekend saw the release of a few new movies, including new entries in the Star Wars—which you’ve no doubt been hearing about and seeing constantly for the past week or so, especially if you’re a regular Geeks of Doom visitor—and Alvin and the Chipmunks franchises. The two movies ended up finishing first and second at the domestic box office for the weekend, though it was nowhere near close with The Force Awakens taking in a massive $248 million and breaking lots of records while The Road Chip took in only $14 million.
Not everyone was shocked to see these two movies arriving in theaters this past weekend, however. In a somewhat prophetic episode of The Simpsons way back in 2009 titled “Homer the Whopper,” a movie studio lot is shown with ads for, you guessed it, new Star Wars and Alvin and the Chipmunks movies.
