| Check Out Hanie Mohd’s Wonder Woman Redesign
I’ve said this before, but Project: Rooftop is a site that you need to add to your RSS readers. It’s consistently one of the best places to check out fan redesigns on popular, and sometimes unpopular, characters from comic books, and Wednesday’s installment of Wonder Woman from Hanie Mohd is no different. Artist Hanie Mohd submitted an excellent redesign on the Amazonian warrior princess Wonder Woman in a more off-duty/evening gown attire, and it’s simply gorgeous artwork. It’s a simple idea, change Wonder Woman’s outfit to a dress and watch the magic, and while I’m sure someone in the history of the character has used this idea, none stand out to me like Mohd’s design. Maybe it’s the sky-style of the flowing dress, maybe it’s just that it’s that good, but either way, Mohd’s design is awesome, which you can check out here below.

| Wonder Woman Documentary Showcasing At SXSW
A new documentary entitled Wonder Woman: The Untold Story of American Superheroines, which focuses on the growth and development of superheroines through comics, war, feminism, and the Riot Grrl movement of more recent years, will be showcased at the South By Southwest (SXSW) film festival. While the documentary spends time on Wonder Woman, from the trailer which you can watch here below, it appears that the documentary is truly about feminism and how gender roles are displayed in popular culture depending on society’s attitude towards women at the time. The documentary is being directed by Kristy Guevara-Flanagan (Going on 13) and features appearances by Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman), Lindsay Wagner (The Bionic Woman), Kathleen Hana from punk band Bikini Kill, Gloria Steinem, Trina Robbins, and more to discuss the impact of pop culture’s portrayal of women in media.

| DC Entertainment Announces Humanitarian Effort With ‘We Can Be Heroes’ |
 |

In true Bruce Wayne fashion, DC Entertainment, alongside all of Warner Bros. Entertainment, have announced the extension of their philanthropic arm to aid the Horn of Africa with the We Can Be Heroes initiative. DC is actually doing something that’s really important with this. Those of us in the public see companies announce several goodwill initiatives all the time, but very rarely do they offer anything out of their profits or funding — instead, they simply use their names to bring attention to problems across the globe. They talk about a problem in a small country or the specific area of a continent, and expect you to give your money with no donations from them at all. They simple take their contribution as bringing out the information. But this is making an actual difference. For all donations made through We Can Be Heroes, DC and Warner will match each donation 100 percent. Sure companies do this all the time also, but as a cynic, I’m pleased to see this take place. But that’s just at launch. We Can Be Heroes is doing much more to help the area.

| The GoD List: Comics For December 21, 2011 |
 |

Each and every week “The American Dragon” MK2Fac3 and “Long Island Iced C” Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of December 21, 2011. Single issues and trades, they’re all here. It’s been a while since I’ve been this excited about comics, because we’ve got a lot of comics coming out this week that have the potential of being some of the finest of the year. We’ve got the return of Batman Incorporated with two of the best artists working in the business, we get the crazy brought to us by Neal Adams in his Batman Odyssey mini-series, as well as many other titles like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Scott Snyder’s Batman, Mark Waid’s Daredevil, Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang’s Wonder Woman, Jason Aaron’s Puninshermax, and many other excellent comics. In fact, some of the finest DC Relaunch titles are coming out this week. But there’s no way we could fit all of this awesome into one small list, so what we’ve done is condensed it, much like milk, and unloaded what we consider to be the comics that will blow us out of the water the hardest. Whether they be the most “important” comics, or if they’re just created by our favorites, one thing can be for certain, they’re what we’re looking forward to the most. For we are The HenchFac3, and this is The GoD List.
